Fancy sharing a few apps? Some guidance to getting a useful list:
1 To try and keep the thread in order, I'm suggesting a few common categories. Feel free to add others but keep it simple! I'm just sharing some - no need to be comprehensive.
2 Try and keep your recommendations to your ONE favourite app in each category.
3 Add a comment (if necessary) in brackets.
4 Avoid, unless you feel need, recommending obvious apps - eg Rowi for Twitter or UC Browser for surfing.

Calendar: VsysCalendar WP8 (a real find this one, esp if you use google calendar, pls say which online calendar you use it with)
Tasks: GTasks Plus (I need google tasks integration)
Reading: Weave (love the TILT helper function for in bed reading!)
Music: Deezer (in absence of Spotify, I've migrated - works on Squeezebox too)
Podcasts: Podcast Lounge (brilliant for BBC stuff)
General recommendation: RapDialer (a great dialer replacement)
Wildcard: myMediaHub (streams video from my ReadyNAS very well - unless it's MKV :unhappy:)

Things I'm still seeking: A good Squeezebox app

Here's the ones I'd pick form those headings.

Calendar Week view 8 which adds a better way of seing what actual appointments you have on the screen instead of squinting at the month view on standard calendar
Tasks I use Evernote for this and pin my to do list to the start screen.
Reading Not used it but have Kindle installed and it seems as functional as all the other Kindle apps out there
Music Phonos to control my Sonos system at home and Subsonic to stream my music library when I'm away.
Podcasts Don't have one
General recommendations Rail planner - If you use a train in the UK get this app, has saved my journeys loads of times as you get live progress updates
Wildcard Star chart is a very nice looking and professional app

Podcasts: PodCatcher because it allows me to save bookmark points.
Audible: Because I love listening to audio books
Groupon: Great for those little shop offers and deals in your local area
Day Counter: So I can keep tabs (no pun intended) on how many days since I stopped smoking (24 so far)
Connectivity Shortcuts: Used for quickly switching on / off wifi, location, network, airplane mode.
Panorama: Great for taking panoramic photographs.
