Usiing locked phone for GPS only

If I take my locked phone to another country can I use it as a GPS only?

The phone runs with no sim card, so I don't see why not. You will have to download the maps through wifi though.

Well to be more clear, from my understanding, the GPS function should work with no data or sim card.

I've been doing this with an att locked htc surround w/ hacked nokia software. definitely works.

Yes, so long as you downloaded the maps for the countries you need to the phone first (use wifi!!). Remember it'll be slower to get a 'first fix' without the data connection to help it.
