Hey all,
long time android user here. recently bought a used HTC 8x Windows Phone 8 to test out and use as a VOIP device. When I first saw the phone I knew there was something off about it, it booted with the windows 8 "not for resale" in red, and had white number engraved on the top left front face of the phone. The phone is a Verizon branded device but it is unlocked to work on any carrier (as the previous owner had it on TMobile).

Here is the specific information:
OS version: 8.0.9900.568
Firmware: 1532.18.09202.605
Boot-loader Version: 0.92153218.02(153904)

Since this is a test/developer device (or so I think) it is not letting me update the software. I wanted to know if there is any flash or something I can do to upgrade to the newest software? And if anyone has more information on these types of devices. I cannot find information anywhere online

Photos attached! Thank you in advance!

Try the guys at XDA. The dev site. Not sure you want to make that phone like the rest... If I knew what I was doing, I'd trade ya.

I also have a developer phone like yours. But I did flash an RUU file (I think) found on XDa dev and was able to update my phone to portico. You should try XDA dev site but im not sure if the file is still there or the instructions.
