Bro still wating for them. i bought them from a US delear on ebay with free international shipping. thats why its taking time. i order on 27th on last month and the estimated delivery date is between 15 aug to 23 aug. . i will post original pix once i get them. till them check these pix I got from the site for the same product. i ordered 2. red and yellow.
My friend purchased one L820 last month from a Kolkata Store. Data sense was preinstalled in his phone . I was really surprised to see that . Recently I flashed my L820 with leaked GDR2 + amber updete through NCS and got Data sense , storage check all.
I purchased lumia 820 4 months back. i had data sence preinstalled too.
So it looks in India Data Sense is not related to any carrier.
If u have 1308 pre installed on Lumia 820,then it will have data sense. But if u update to 1308 OTA u won't get it unless u flash it using NSU.
I bought a wireless charging shell in red colour from flipkart a few months back. It was the last piece i think because as soon as my order was placed it showed out of stock. Flipkart delivered it in two days and it works fine and the matte finish on the wireless charging ones looks better than the regular glossy ones and doesnt scratch that easily.

in India Amber is already available on 920 and its coming soon on 820. Will not flash my device waiting for the Original Update. Dont want to make pre-mature assumptions.

I don't know this trick worked or I got the update naturally. What I did was, I changed the date to next month and checked for update. It showed the 80072ee7 error. Then went back to Date and Time setting, selected Set automatically. Then when i checked for the Update, Bingo!! But I am not sure whether this trick really triggered the update or not.. Anybody can try though.

Used up almost 1GB space in phone memory, before the update download started i had 1005 MB free, it dropped to 66 MB(see screenshot) while preparing installation.
Installation reached 99% but when i pressed back to see free space and came back to update menu, it showed 95%. This happened twice.

What i noticed is, Data sense was installed only today in this update but it still knows the data usage and is showing it on live tile, so WP8 is storing all this info in background from the start.
EDIT: FLIP TO SILENCE is working too. A teeny tiny bit laggy(like 0.1s) as compared to my 5800 Xpressmusic. :P
Gallery thumbnails seem to be of lower resolution now, maybe to increase speed?
Inbuilt fb chat in messaging is now working flawlessly, which wasn't the case before.
CAMERA TAKES PICTURES SO FRICKIN FAST NOW!! :D I WANTED THIS SO BADLY.
I don't see the option of call+sms filter in the setting menu.

Maybe now its coming pre installed. :)

I have got this update after a long time since 1308 update, so i got Amber directly.
Amber is bundled along with the gdr2 update
In addition, I noticed the battery performance has increased a bit and camera autofocus works better and takes sharper photos.
Yup, battery is showing almost 80% more standby time now. :D
amber is nothing just some tweaks done by nokia and released new lens called smart cam. The main focus should be on general release distribution 2 made by Microsoft.(gdr2).all the performance, battery improvement, FM radio and bug fixes in OS is handled by Microsoft. nokia added flip to silence which was earlier on my lumia 900 now ported back to windows phone 8 series by nokia(520-1020),adjust screen colour profile is a move by nokia as this feature is hardly seen on smartphones these days. Glance , double tap was first seen on nokia n8(Symbian) and now ported to windows 8 :) ,call blocking is also a nice move as it was the most requested feature in lumia ( Samsung ativ series have this on windows phone devices before the gdr2). htc seeded the gdr2 update(no software was released or tweaks by htc :D just gdr2 update by Microsoft) earlier which created bugs and issues in phones like hearing music for longer time bricked the phone ( the audio chip related problem). htc later resolved this issue by seeding another update to the htc windows phone series. there are still some bugs in amber update seeded by nokia (images taken by camera on l920 shows different colour(blue shows green,pro cam bugs).hope I made some the clarification discussed here.glance screen is a huge battery sucker on l920(due to non amoled display as it has an IPS display).
Yes, I noticed an improvement in battery life too. And I think it is more linear.

I have been using GDR2+Amber for a while now User Experience has improved a little but its like one step backward.
Why ?
I ran into bluetooth issues with BMW AFTER the update , However , BT streaming working fine on Chevy Cruze (worked fine before update and now too).
Firmware on the car-computer-system is latest one possible as far as I know.
Before update , I used to listen to music and answer calls using BT system and it also downloaded contact photos to show on system's screen whenever someone calls but Now everything is f****** up.
Its not fault with car for sure because all other devices working fine with it except WP8 , its definitely problem on MS.
At first (in 2012) WP8 had issues with cars (Mostly ford cars or something I don't remember) but now MS screwed up for others as well.

Yes, It shows remaining data balance on the backside of the tile.
I don't see any setting for that. Mine shows both wifi and data usage.
It's last on the list of System settings.

Hi, It is really a very unexpected situation with me. I have purchased Nokia Lumia 820 last July-2013 (last Month).ne Now I am traveling abroad, to my surprise the touch screen is working fine but the touch screen lock is not responding. Every time I have to disconnect the battery. Can someone advise.
I am assuming touch doesn't work when you want to unlock the phone?
Try tapping the hardware key a couple of times, then unlock, happens with me once in a while.
Soft reboot? Clean cache?

yup pro cam works pretty well (not to mention smart cam is working as well),the only problem is the app crashes when u select to use front cam
Yep! The front cam acts barmy with the procam app. That must be because it was never designed for 820. Considering that I am amazed how glitch-free and smooth the main camera function is.
Amber - GDR2 was cool but by the looks of it, Bittersweet Shimmer - GDR3 will be way cooler. If only November could come a little sooner!
maybe that's a hint that they might release it for all other lumias (or only 820)..
if they say its November,expect it to come by December :P

but i didnt get the call+sms filter ,also the glance does not have peek option ,its just times ,on ,off !
also is there any feature like when call comes you flip cell and it gets cut ? heard about it ,mine dosent have so wanted to know.
Ok does anyone knows how to delete all instances of a contact from call log. There is an option to delete all but that turns my log into a blank slate. If there are 100 calls from a contact over a week, am I expected to delete them one by one if I have to?
update the nokia system apps using apps like sysapp pusher etc.
there is an option in call log's menu called "deleted all" which will deleted all your call history or you can do soft reset to clear log history..
Thanks for replying but it seems you misread my post. I already know the 'delete all' option. It absolutely wipes away my history. I want to delete all instances of a particular contact only. Any ideas there?

i am using Lumia 820, some updations requires on system apps and some apps like whatsapp, office, browsers etc, one thing is good that if every person using the phone needs some updation then you have to give the maximum feedback and suggestions to these people this increases the chances for updation which you needs..............

When I went to buy an 820 in Pune last week the common answer I got from various sources was "production of 820 has been stopped."
I tried Nokia priority dealers. retail mobile shops, branded mobile shops (e.g. reliance, the mobile store etc) without any success.
Nokia priority dealers told me "due to the launch of 625 in the same price bracket supply of 820 has been stopped since last 15 days".
Till 2-3 days back Flipkart did show 820 'In stock" but it was not available in my region. Whenever I entered my pincode it said 'not available'. Now even flipkart shows 820 'Out of stock'.
I am shell shocked by the decision taken by Nokia. Moreover I am sad to see the earlier-than-expected demise of a phone that I love.
P.S. I own an 820 since the day it was launched. I wanted to buy one for my brother but now I'm being forced to settle down for 720. :unhappy:

In 2012 , I bought iPad 3rd gen and production was after 7 months.
This year , I got Lumia 820 around January ending and now production stopped after 8 months (I sold if off anyway like weeks before)
I "almost" purchased HTC One until last minute (which was also discontinued btw , only dual sim available which has less tech support from xda) but I finally went for GS4.
These are all decent products which got killed to give boost to other products.
But consumer will be in bad position.
If 820 gets into trouble , they won't replace it because its no longer in production for India.It will be taken and manually repaired (same for HTC One as well however apple offers immediate replacement within 2 weeks).If that's not possible , you must wait for another 820 to arrive from another country.
My advice is not to go for 820 especially without checking for defects.
Don't go for any other source which you don't trust.
Better get another model.
