see i had a cyan cc-1043 but it got horrible stains when the color of my jeans leached into the pouch which then leached into the cc1043. since looking at the stains are annoying and when i see it i cant stand it, i decided to spray paint over my cc-1043 and here's the results.
1st pic was taken by my 920 indoors, others using my note outside to capture the real color of the paint, the note sadly got bad pictures when i took pics from inside the house.

thanks abel. i had to take the photo outside in the sun because the cam of my note is so bad that it couldn't capture the real color of the paint indoors. love my nice cloud backdrop. =)

i used quick dry acrylic paint. automotive spray paint. i of course painted it without the phone in the case. maybe you thought i painted the phone? NOOOO. i painted the official nokia case, cc-1043. I'd never dare spray paint my 920. hehehe

LOL...i sure did think that you painted the phone! (I didn't know what the cc1043 was). I was saying to myself that you were very brave to do that! Well, anyway the paint looks amazing! It integrates nicely with the phone :)

Very nice job. Can you give any helpful hints to your method, is the inside of the case completely painted as well? Also it looks as if you may have used a clear coat or sealant after the paint job perhaps? This post got me thinking about trying to paint my grey case white to match my white 920.

Looks great. I may have to try this as well. My yellow case is dirty on the top and bottom and so far nothing will clean it. I think the seams aren't completely sealed but I had to put my grey case on and remove the stained yellow one. CC 1043 case in dissapointed in, but this just might work. Thanks for the idea😊

Did the paint crack or something when you installed it?

I would also like know, how is it keeping. I mean did it crack from flex or did you face any other degradation? I have black case, I am unable to find any other color in local market.

Very sexy! I'd also like to know how it is holding up. Since the CC-1043 is matte, it should have held the paint pretty well, but acrylic isn't very flexible.

An even better question... how did you get that screen protector to stay on the screen edges? Or is it a wet screen protector?

i just painted the outside. had the inside covered so that it would not be painted to keep the case from getting thick due to the paint. and yes i used clear coat to protect the colored layer from scratches also to make it more glossy. the paint did not break or crack when i put the phone in carefully. although in my first experience with painting cc1043 using acrylic, (i painted over my red cc-1043 with clear coat to keep it from getting stained like my cyan cc-1043, also to make it glossy and it actually became same shade of glossy red as my red 920) installing it was no problem but when i removed the phone from the case the clear coat cracked at the corner edges of the top of the cutout for the screen, where the case would be stretched when removing the phone. all other areas were unaffected. although this time with the green paint when i removed it nothing happened, maybe the paint is more flexible or just thicker, i dont really know. maybe i just got lucky haha. so far lovin this green painted case so i guess i wont be removing it again anytime soon hehe. someone told me to try using "ts" tamiya paints (don't know what this is) because it is used for flexible stuff, havent tried it yet and am still gona go and look for it tomorrow. if you know that type of paint maybe you could try that. im from the philippines by the way.

for the tips, well, i just painted it like i would a car minus the primers etc. 1st layer of paint, let it dry thoroughly , slight wet sanding with very fine sandpaper 1500 to 2500 grit to smooth it out, 2nd layer then wet sanding again, you could go for a 3rd layer if you think the paint isnt thick enough for you yet, then clear coat, these days its very hot here, temps reach around 34-36 degress celsius so the paint dries up quick, i had this done in 4 hours although i let it stand to dry for another 4 hours to be sure..

so far so good been using it 2 days still good as new.no degradation so far. and the screen guard is placed just on the flat areas of the screen thats why it stays on. its not wet screen protector, just standard ones =)
