After purchasing the 920 I encounter this issue. And finally fix this issue by unpin the store tile, clear ie cache, hold volume down and power button when the phone is on, after rebooting pin the tile back. But recently I run into this app update checking issue again. I realize hard reset will actually break the app update process. And I'm under FW1308 now. Old trick seams no longer work anymore. I searched on twitter, @WinPhoneSupport told other guys to check one app update but don't update it. I'm trying this trick now. This issue really drives me crazy. And guys, don't hard reset your phone( hold vol down& power button when the phone is on). Your update checker will brick if you do this. Sorry for the bad English. Hope some one could give me a effective way to fix this.
