Thinking of buying a Nokia Lumia 520 for 150$ at Koodo Mobile. Good choice for geek/semi-gamer?

Hi guys!

I am hesitating between the HTC One V and the Lumia 520, which are both amazing phones considering how much you pay. I've been 1.5 years with a Samsung Focus WP7 and I was very disappointed about it's gaming capability.

Now that WP8 is out, I heard it was a better gaming handset than was WP7 but unfortunately, the Nokia Lumia 520 has only 512mb ram, which means it will NOT play high-end games

So do you guys think that future WP8 hacking will let us play games like Nova 3 on 512mb devices? If not, how are the games designed for 512mb handsets? Would I be satisfied as a geek/semi-gamer or I should rather go with the HTC One V?

Thank you very much!

The only reason you should be choosing between the two is if the One V is cheaper than the 520. The one v is only single core with an Adreno 205.

The 520 is dual core with an Adreno 305, which is better.

So if you're worrying about games, then obviously the 520 is the better choice. Especially because thelat phone will still get support and that One V is ancient and HTC don't even remembered they made that phone.

Pretty much all games on the store for the 520 work, only a few major titles are not built for a 512Mb RAM device, but I'm sure with time developers will optimise their games like what happened with Asphalt 7.

I already have more games than I have time to play on my 520!

I've only played a couple 3D games on it but they worked sweet, very smooth, although I felt a 2D one I played could have been smoother.

The CPU, GPU, RAM configuration is very common I suggest you Google them for benchmarks etc if gaming is important.

CPU: Qualcomm MSM8227 Dual-core 1 GHz
GPU : Adreno 305
RAM: 512MB
