Hey guys,

First time using a windows phone, and I'm disappointed, I didn't find anything about this with Google. I used to connect to internet with my Blackberry 3G connection, and it doesn't sound possible with a windows phone.

Is there a way to use the 3G connection of my Lumia 520 to have internet access on my computer ?

Thanks ! :winktongue:

I do this all the time with Lumia 710. I think you should be able to do it with 520. Go to setting and check for internet sharing. I think it is the same for windows phone 8. I have window sphone 7

yes it's possible, exactly how rmichael75 put it. Under settings turn on internet sharing, as long as your computer has wifi then your good to go.

Maybe you should change your search engine to provide you better results ;) heh

When I say "there's no internet sharing option in my settings", it means "there's no internet sharing option in my settings". Are you sure it is enabled for Nokia Lumia 520 ?

It's definitely enabled on my Nokia Lumia 520:

Is your phone unlocked or tied to your carrier? If it's tied to your carrier, could it be that they disabled tethering...?

I bought that phone with a 3G package, in an Orange shop, in France. I'm still in france, using the 3G Orange network. The option won't appear, in french or english mode.

After a bit of googling it would seem that, certainly in the past, Orange France have only allowed tethering on some of their packages (although admittedly I couldn't find anything more recent than early 2012 and my French isn't good enough to be able to navigate the orange.fr website). I'd suggest contacting Orange directly and double check that tethering is allowed on your package. If it is allowed then maybe they can activate the option on your handset?
