Navfile not working - I can't flash firmware downloaded from internet

Hey,

The Navfirm program is not working and giving me an error about "com.nokia.post.server.caresuite.webservice.UnauthorisedFault"

is there another way to obtain the firmware and flash the phone ?

cant believe how poor the support from Nokia is with this stupid spinning cogs.

Also - how do I tell what version my device actually is ? its a white 920 on the EE UK Network.

Well you can't use navifirm no more but what you can do is use Nokia Care Suit 5 (I linked it in my popular post (how to flash portico update Check my profile for a link.)
After you install it follow the procedure I explained on that post).
