Hmmm, I just stumbled upon a Lumia 1020 variant RM-876.

The AT&T version is RM-877, and the international version is RM-875

But the RM-876 is focused on HSPA networks and drops LTE support, which is exactly what works for WIND and Mobilicity up here in Canada.

specs:
RM-876, WCDMA HSPA+ variant: EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 and 1700/2100, HSDPA+ Cat24 (42.1 Mbps), HSUPA Cat 6 (5.76 Mbps)

So if AT&T sells RM-877, and the rest of the world gets RM-875, then where on earth can you get RM-876? I want the 1020 but I have no idea how and where to find RM-876 for sale. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, we always have to wait and wait and struggle in Canada. Rogers discontinued the Lumia 920, and no news what so ever on upcoming devices, even the Lumia 925 never showed up in Canada. And if you get it internationally unlocked it probably would not work on Wind or Mobilicty!!!!

Oh I forgot, Koodo has the Lumia 520,, wo-ho!!!!!

Those bands definitely look Rogers/TMobile bands as those are the two main carriers using the AWS band so maybe its just an error that LTE is not listed and its slated for a later release. China doesn't use those WCDMA bands so its unlikely to be heading there.

Rogers doesn't use HSPA AWS bands, T-Mobile, WIND and Mobilicity do. So I doubt that would be a Roger's version. Though the Rogers 920 oddly did have AWS support... one will never know until it actually comes out!

Question, Wind network's AWS runs on the 1700/2100 frequencies. Does it mean as long as my phone works with one of it then it is fine or I need to find a phone to work with both?

RM-875, RM-877: 2100
Wind also has 4G network, I assume, then RM-875 has 2100 and RM-877 has 1700. Will they work?

TBH, I'm not sure exactly how AWS works. But I've been told that it must support 1700_2100, and not just one of them. I don't think a phone that supports just one of either 1700 or 2100 will work. But I'm no expert.

I'd love to hear if someone can try a 1020 RM-876 in Canada on WIND/Mobilicity though. My only concern is that it would lock out stuff like facebook and severely limit the app store because it's a Chinese market phone.

AWS (band 4) is typically referenced in spec sheets as "1700". The 2100 part is often just assumed. When a spec sheet lists 2100 by itself, it is not talking about AWS but rather the European 2100-band (band 1).

If so, I can smuggle one to Canada. I need confirmation.

Hate to bring back an older thread, but for anyone who is still interested/wondering, I can confirm that China Unicom does indeed sell the RM-876. I personally own one, but I've yet to test its compatibility with WIND yet, since I am still in China.

If you're in Canada you can buy the Rogers Nokia 1020 and it is indeed pentaband!
I did so at the Microsoft store and have it now running on Wind 4G.
*PRO TIP* I went to a microsoft store location and was able to get a 10% student discount off the price of the $599 phone. When I went to Rogers they were going to charge me an extra $50 on the $599 price since I wasn't a Rogers customer. But at the Microsoft store they sold it to me at $599 outright minus the $60 student discount.
I then unlocked it online for about $10.

Good way to save some money and get it running on Wind/Mobilicity!

Plazma1 can you please post pictures/screencaps? Mainly, the Lumia 1020 box that came with your phone should have the compatible bands shown on it.
It would be greatly appreciated!!

Right here: http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wire...ductId_Detailed=LUM1020YEL&N=52+11+4294967039

It seems though that you do need to be on contract with them, so unless you can find an unlocked Rogers 1020 on somewhere like eBay, the RM-876 still might be your best bet. Unless, of course, there is another version of the 1020 that supports HSPA AWS.
