Crackling audio when using headphones

So I've owned an Ativ S for about a month now. I really love it. But I have two issues. One that doesn't bother me (the top inch of the screen is slightly dimmer than the rest of it) and one that makes me want to go back to my old Blackberry. The major issue is that I hear a ton of crackling and pops when listening to audio. It's definitely not a hardware issue relating to the headphone jack, since if I go in certain apps while using the phone the constant popping/crackling will disappear (my podcast app for example) and once I leave them it returns. It's really bothering me right now. As someone who uses his device for music/podcasts a lot it makes me go nearly insane when random loud pops start appearing alongside my music.

Is there any fix for this or am I basically boned? :unhappysweat:

I've got this also..yesterday a movie on Netflix was sounding like optimus prime was speaking..otherwise it sounds sqeueeky in the background and noisy :s maybe I should send it back?
