925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
Does anyone else have the Nokia wireless charging shell for their 925?
It clips on nicely and looks good but doesn't offer a great deal of protection. This isn't a problem for me as I only wanted it to charge my phone.
What is a problem is that there is no cut-out for the speaker on the rear of the phone which muffles the sound a bit. It's particularly noticeable when playing music. Anyone else noticed this?
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
It's a setup so you'll buy some Purity headsets! Seriously though, that is odd. I wonder if it was an oversight that didn't get caught or if it was intentional.

Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
I'm thinking the charging contacts are too close to the speaker so they couldn't cut out a hole for it. This shouldn't be a problem for me when I get my phone as long as I can hear alerts and ringtones.
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
No doubt there is a reason for it but it's not ideal.

Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
US and European versions are the same, afaik. I have the charging shell and have had no issues with sound being muffled.
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
That's an odd review. I'm pretty sure the charging shell is the same across all regions. The only variation with the 925 is the radios in each region and carrier branding. The rest of the hardware should be exactly the same.

Where did you order yours? I order mine last week and it shipped yesterday... delivery will be Friday. Had I ordered black or white I would have received it within 5 business days.

I ordered from eBay (seller named turbomaxx with 40k+ feedback) based out of the UK. They shipped the order on Monday and their shipping estimates say it should be here by next week. No tracking number though so I'm not 100% sure about the shipping time. I ordered a TPU gel case from the States in the meanwhile.

Be sure and let us know about the shell you ordered!
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
The charging shell sounds best with the Nokia charging stand. The channel lines up with grooves on the stand and sounds pretty good.
I'm happy with the sound off the stand also.
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
I thought it made it sound louder
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
On mine, there's about .75mm overlap on the front of the phone, which is sufficient to protect the screen when placed face down on a table. I use a screen protector with the shell, though, since I'm sick of so-called "Gorilla Glass" getting scratched by lint / feathers / dust / gentle breeze / soft cloths etc.

OMG tell me about it!
Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
Bringing up the thread on a different concern with the shell. You guys think nfc will be compromised if it's kept on? I know not many people use it but occasionally me and the gf do nfc sharing on our lumias. Just checking if others have tried with the shell attached

It's just polycarbonate, it shouldn't have any effect.

Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
Well, it seems like the material of these cases aren't exactly the best. I tried taking it off last night to clean whatever stuffs got stuck between the case and the back of the phone (I put the phone in my pocket a lot) and the corner chipped. I also noticed the other corner is already cracking as well.
Contacted Nokia and even though it's under 1 year warranty, they wanted me to send it in for further "analysis". Very disappointing.

Re: 925 Wireless Charging Shell Issue
Nokia wants the back returned so they can replace it for you. They did the same with my 810 back that melted a bit. They sent me a label to return it and sent the replacement .2nd day air as soon as they had confirmation I shipped it. Much better service than I expected.
As far as the 925 cover goes, its perfect for me. I hardly ever drop devices and really love the "naked" 925, but I have Qi chargers all over after the 810 and for my wife's 920, so it only makes sense to have one on. The sound seems about the same on or off for me, but it does sound good through my JBL PowerUp!
