I was one of those people that just didnt want to wait for the Windows Phone 8 devices, and am completely torn at this point as to whether I want to stick with Windows Phone with my next upgrade or go back to the iPhone.

I have the Lumia 900, and now with the 520 available on AT&T for $100 im tempted to buy it and give Windows Phone 8 a shot.

My question is how does the 520 compare to the 900? I know theres no front facing camera or flash for the camera, but other then that, is it worth the $100 to go from the 900 to the 520? Does the 520 use micro sim cards?

Yes, the 520 uses micro SIM.

I have no idea if there are any differences between the GoPhone SIM and the regular AT&T SIM. You might want to check with AT&T to find out if you would be able to use this device on a regular AT&T plan, rather than a GoPhone plan.

I have purchased GoPhones in the past and used them when I've sold my contract phone to buy another new phone coming out. Should be fine in my experience but you could always give at&t a call to confirm.

Regarding Lumia 900 vs Lumia 520, WP8 has access to more of the new apps that have come out. I've recently tried the Lumia 521 (T-Mobiles version of the 520) and owned a Focus Flash. My experience was much better with the 521.

I like that Nokia Drive actually says the name of streets, the camera performance is actually pretty good for a budget device (some pics are similar to my Nexus 4, which isn't saying much), and the 512mb ram is plenty powerful for most anything I'd thrown at the 521. I really like the size and weight overall and feel its a great balance of size and performance.

My biggest question is, is it worth getting the 520? Or should i just stick with the 900 until my upgrade in april.
That's up to you.

I'm waiting until I'm eligible for an upgrade, since I want a high-end device. I'll get the 1020 (or whatever even better Nokia is available) next April.

I decided to get it, so far I'm pretty impressed with the phone, especially for a low end device.

It runs just as well, if not better then the 900, the only thing that I really notice is the lack of gorilla glass and clearblack display. The camera is pretty legit for a 5Mp one, haven't had to much of a chance to test it though.

i did the exact switch from 900 to 520. 520 is the best deal to run wp8.

The camera is better on the 520, I don't get why the 900 camera is so bad??
Nokia drive on 520 is not as reliable as 900 for some reason, although 520 has the updated version.
Music is better on the 900.
Screen color is better on 900.
520 runs faster.

I still switch back and forth between the two units, but isn't 900 cost 4 or 5 times more than a 520?

My experience with the 900 camera was nothing short of amazing in med to bright light. Low light wasn't the best but the camera was actually good.

Do you have dust under the len cover for 900? however, I checked the photos that I took on day 1 on the 900 and it was not that great. The only complain I have with 900.

I got the 900 on the first day it was available at AT&T. The pictures I took initially were not that good. Subsequent firmware updates improved the camera.

I took plenty of good photos with the 900, but my Titan took better ones. If the 5mp shooter in the 520 is as good as my Focus was for daylight photos then you have a winner. I just wont get this particular 520 because it is branded to AT&Fee and I want updates when they are available, not when ATT says they are.
