and more colors

There is a rumor about red international one (seen on some Polish page) ...

About 64 Gb ... no, not my kidney :) ... but some extra is just OK, as internal memory is also very fast (beat easily class 10 memory card) ....

Makes me wonder if it's only O2 that will get the 64GB model, it doesn't say anywhere (from what I can tell) that it will be exclusive to them. Hopefully the 64GB model comes to EE so I can use my Virgin Mobile SIM in it.

the L1020 64gb is Telefonica exclusive, much like the 32gb L925 is Vodaphone exclusive.

nokia need to add a sd card slot!!!!

Indeed, its in the L720 so the engineers can figure out a way to fit one in lol however it would be interesting to a L1020 tear down.

If they release a 64Gb model, they might decide that the SD slot isn't needed anymore. I think it's ridiculous that none of the phones have HDMI and many of them don't have SD slots. Really retro!

The 64GB Lumia 1020 is exclusive to Telefonica, the parent company of O2. So other networks should be getting it.

If one looks at the list of Lumia 1020 product codes posted here on WPCentral forums by RyanR47, the following networks will offer the 64GB edition...

  • O2 Deutschland (Germany)
  • O2 UK
  • O2 Ireland (O2 Ireland is currently part of Telefonica, but is pending sale to Hutchison 3G's 3 Ireland).

The one gripe that I have about the 1020 is the internal storage when you..ahem...take pictures with it. :amaze:

The files are huge, and after taking 300 photos of varying quality the amount of free space starts to dwindle. I am mostly kidding; 64 GB would allow me to store a ton of apps and music without removing photos. Yes, I have 50 GB on AT&T Locker. Who has time for that though? (tongue and cheek)

For what it is and does, the 1020 is a great phone. Extra storage, more manual control of the camera and expandable storage would make it a well-rounded package. Perhaps this will be the 1120?

i would wait for the next lumia after 1020 with a 64-128Gb, and willing to pay extra for the extra storage. Currently i have a 920.
I wish if Nokia would make 3 versions of these phones like what Apple do, a 32GB, 64GB and 128GB unbranded,

It will be interesting to see what sort of memory Nokia puts in its upcoming phablet next month. If they stick to 32GB without expansion that should tell us a lot about the future direction things are likely to take. The concern is that they will try to reserve large memory options for the line of true tablets they are developing. Why buy an RT based tablet if the phones themselves have the same memory? What should concern them is whether people will want to upgrade at all if more memory isn't part of the package. A faster processor and a 1080 screen may not be enough reason IMO. I will find it hard to replace a 1020 for a phone without more memory and right now there is no indication that AT&T will introduce a 64GB version even next year when the exclusive expires. If the 925 comes over at 16 GB that should be another indication that the idea is to foist more limited phones on the public to foster expansion of the tablet market. How many people would be interested in any tablet if their smartphone carried 128GB and SD expansion?

I'm a big fan of SD slots and am very puzzled at Nokia's reasoning in denying it on the 1020 while my cheapo 520 has it... Or why they even bothered with the 32gb phone and not just make every phone 64gb?

That said, I have a ton of games, music, video, and photos on mine right now and still have 16 GB open so can't really complain. I have to admit though that this limitation has changed me. I used to treat my phone as 'permanent' data storage and now consider it to be more fluid.. so backup and delete my camera roll every 2 wks, eliminate games I've finished and careful on what bids or music I decide to download. One thing that makes this easier is T-Mobile's $70 unlimited-everything plan. Living in LTE coverage I can now just stream many things I would have otherwise downloaded...
