I have an ATT Lumia 920 and flashed it in an effort to get the AWS 1700 band working.

I flashed to pre-portico Rogers, then OTA update to Portico. Then to Euro Dev 1 Amber.

Does anyone know of a way to verify what bands are available or currently in use? I'm on T-Mobile and in a re-farmed area, but I would like to know when I"m on AWS or the re-famed 1900 band.

Thanks!

The ATT 920 does NOT have the 1700 band. Flashing to a different ROM won't do anything to help unfortunately.
actually it does have the hardware, it is just disabled.

You can try getting to field test mode and seeing which bands the phone has (haven't done it myself, so can't guarantee this will work). Otherwise you have to go to a non-refarmed area

Thanks AR2186! I can't use the ##3282# (or any variation) to get the field test. That worked when I went to pre-portico Rogers, but it's not in the Amber Euro Dev 1, ROM. I guess I'll have to keep using it until I get to an area that is not re-farmed as you say.

I will post back if I can confirm this worked.

Another alternative is getting it dev unlocked and following the guides over at XDA using the Native Toast Launcher app (go to Windows Phone 8 subforum Hacking and Development)

...or flash to the GDR2 Rogers ROM. Field Test is enabled for it. Again as someone mentioned, the AWS bands have been blocked at a hardware level and hence won't work, but you can still try out of enthusiasm.

And to check what bands your phone is using, once you are in Field Test, check the UARFCN numbers

Check xda and here, no one has clear proof whether it has been enabled (and usable). A simple UARFCN frequency # will tell whether the phone is actually able to use AWS/Band 4

Just to update, I've tried all these and I don't think I enabled anything, but I live in a re-farmed are so it is hard to say. I never saw anything but 1900 Mhz band checking the UARFCN it was always 512 when I was on 3G.
