Hi All,

Since last night by Lumia 920 keeps randomly freezing.

I will ask it to open my mail app, facebook etc etc, doesn't appear to be app specific and it will just freeze. The screen stays on then darkens and turns off as it would normally. After about 3-5 mins it comes back to life.

I have only installed one app recently, reaper game, and it was fine for hours after that.

There are no running background tasks and it will be fine to use most of the time but then just stop.

Any ideas? I have done many soft resets, no hard reset yet as not at home to backup until tonight.

take it to the service centre as you have done soft resets. Back up your data first and then hurry to the service centre.

Seems a bit extreme to go straight to a service center. Is that really my only option? Can I not reinstall the OS?

As an additional symptom, it is also very slow to turn off once it has frozen, even if I turn off during a period of it working ok.

If you want to do a hard reset and OS reinstall, search this form and you will find how to do it. Some of the procedures involved in os reinstall may void your warranty so proceed with caution. I prefer taking it to the Nokia service centre coz i've had excellent experience with the Nokia service centre in my area.

HI All,

After many soft resets, power drains and various button combo pushes this morning my phone came back to life YAY!!!!

No real idea what fixed it, too many variables, but safe to say I wont be doing a factory reset again.

I do have a strange situation now though...

I can install apps which require the amber update, something which i installed a few weeks ago upon its release to UK EE customers, but I don't have glare listed in my settings? I have got radio and as I said before I can install apps that rely on amber but yet, no glare.

Any ideas?

Good to hear the freezing problem solved. try the sysapp pusher and see if tells you about any new updates. I am not sure though but worth a try.

You're looking for glance, not glare and it sounds like you need to update your system apps. Download and install SysApp Pusher and press the 'Check Version' button and you should be fine.
