hi i think this is rather general question but considering now i have bought lumia 920 maybe this is the correct place to ask this question

so i want to know if it's safe to charge the battery at night while i sleep?

i read somewhere that modern device always know if it's already full so the charger would stop "charging" when it's 100%. Is it true? Does it mean it's OK to leave the phone charging at night? because sometimes i am in the middle of dilemma if i charge the phone in the morning while i usually have to go...

This question also apply to other modern devices such as laptop in the past 1-2 years generation, is it OK to charge them at night or it will damage the battery health? Thanks.

I don't know about laptops, but for the phone I'm almost sure that it's safe. I have always charged my Lumia 800 over night, and the battery is still good, and I think that's what almost everyone does
