I'm needing a new phone as I'm planning on doing some Windows Phone 8 development, and my current LG Optimus 7 will only ever get WP7.8. I've got the following options:

    • Lumia 520 - $120, + cost of unlock code
    • Lumia 620 - $150, + cost of unlock code (and cost of bigger battery?)
    • Lumia 920 - ~$300 for a gently used/refurbished model (already unlocked)

Given that this is going to be my go-to device for the next two plus years, I'd rather not cheap out and get the 520. Also, the front facing camera might be pretty fun to play with.

I'm wondering, for those of you who own the 620, how have you found the battery life? All the reviews I've come across so far seem to be a bit concerned with it, as it is a fairly small battery. Looking through the forums, I've seen that it is possible to swap in a bigger battery, but this will add to the total cost of the phone. Do you think it is worth getting the 620, or should I just hold off and get myself the 920 instead? They both seem like pretty amazing devices.

I own a lumia 620. Battery does fair to me ,12 hrs straight if data connection is on ,with a little gaming music and video its reduced to 8hrs to 9hrs .I would recommend investing in a bigger size battery

Thanks for the feedback. I won't be using a data plan, but I do run on wifi both at home and school. I generally listen to music on my ZuneHD, so the bulk of what I do on my phone is texting, heavy calendar use, and checking Twitter a few times a day.

If the Mugen battery runs another $40, I'm thinking it might be best to hold off and go for the 920. I do find it interesting that the 920 uses the Adreno 225 rather than the 620's Adreno 305.

I own a L620 as well, simply because that's what my money only goes for. Lol. Anyway, L620 is a good device. The Battery? Well, it is doing fair enough for me. Around 15+ hours using Music + Battery Saver on. 10+ With battery saver off. I love listening to some grooves so, I usually use my phone for music.

With wi-fi? We have it at home and When I'm home I always turned on my wiFi without the Battery Saver on. and It'll last around 10+ hours for me with hardcore use. I think my Battery is a good one though.

L920 is a really good device as well. If you got the budget then go for it.

    620. That ClearBlack screen helps a lot if you're trying to use it as a phone. In fact, it's so effective that under the sun, you can see the screen perfectly.

I will hold off for 920. It has better specs, like 1GB RAM, better camera, and higher storage size for installing applications. I'm not regretting buying 620, but I think 920 is better than 620.

Well, of course the 920 is "better" than the 620. I think your asking yourself the wrong question. Forget price for a sec, they are two different experiences. The 920 is big and Heavy. While the 620 is pretty small and light. Could you live with the size of the 920? Could your live with a 3.8" screen on the 620? Speed and memory are really a nonis sure unless your a big gamer.

About the battery, you could replace the 620 battery, 1300mh with the Nokia stock 520 battery. Its the same size and is 1450. But it seems that we all charge our phones every night now anyway, so unless you use it constantly, you'll be OK with the stock 620.

About the camera.. Yeah, 920 camera is much better than the 620s. That may be the deciding factor. But don't forget, with the soon to be released Black update and Nokia Camera, the 620 should see an improvement. My Lumia 900 went from being almost unusable when I first got it, to really nice after an update.

My best suggestion, if you haven't done it already, is to see both phones in person and see which one suits you best. I'm a bit torn between the 720 and the 620, but coming off of a 5" Android mobile, I really like the 620 size... Good luck!

Bravo! Clearblack rocks and is a must have for me now that I've been spoiled with it (Lumia 900)

Just an FYI if you didn't know.. The stock 520 battery is a bit more powerful, 1450 rather than 1300, than the 620s and is the same size. Probably much cheaper that the Mugen.

The BL-5J that comes with the 520 is a 1430 mAh battery. Older Nokia phones that have this battery are very common, but have a 1320 mAh capacity.
The BL-4J that comes with the 620 is a 1300 mAh battery.

Also, both are compatible with each other.

The BL-5J is just a bit thicker than the BL-4J that comes with the 620. The BL-5J fits in the 620, but the case on the 620 will not sit quite flush with the larger battery in it.

That's why you remove the sticker thing on the shell.
