Will my phone get virus?

I was browsing the web with my 920. And I clicked one link, and it somehow directed me to a porn site (I was not looking for any porn!). I hit the back button right away to exit the site. I have no idea what happened but that website does look very suspicious. Suppose there are viruses on that website, will my phone get virus too? Or those virus are not designed for Windows Phone so I'll be okay?

You cannot get a virus on Windows Phone.
To say you can't get a virus on windows phone would be untrue. Though it is highly unlikely. If a programmer developed it, a virus can be designed to attack it. But not sure there is a virus out there designed for attacking windows phone and never heard of one for windows phone. So most likely your fine. Don't worry about it.

Since the OS only runs signed applications, and apps are sandboxed, it is basically a true statement in WP8. Same holds for Microsoft Surface (RT).

No viruses exist and it is incredibly unlikely one can be created. Certainly none could persist a reboot due to Secure Boot.

I respect your opinion. But I'm not as optimistic as you. If there's a will there's a way. But again highly unlikely. And the OP should have nothing to worry about.

As of now, there is no real known vulnerabilities in Windows Phone that could let a virus of any kind waltz in, also owing to its locked down nature.
You have nothing to fear, this isn't desktop Windows of old.

I'm not saying it will never happen, but the odds of it happening now are remoter than Antarctica.

OK the term computer virus is being WAY overloaded .... In short you can't get virus in any phone, but you could get much more nasty stuff. Some definition first. Virus is a type of Bad Software (maleware) that copy itself by infecting other files. You basically won't get infected with them on mobile O/S due to its security model.

The most likely bad stuff you will run into are Trojan and Spy/Adware. Trojan is a maleware that disguises itself as a legitimate program but carry a hidden cargo (just like the Trojan Horse in Geek). Trouble is there are almost no way to shield yourself away from this kind of problem in mobile. Apple supposed to screen their app, Google and WP display that "privacy box" during install. The fun and free angry bird clone you just downloaded may be using your data plan to send SPAM or collecting all contact email address and posting it on some black-market forum. There were multiple cases that hidden and dangerous stuff was being hidden in relatively harmless app.

The bad news is all our phone already infected by: Spyware/Adware, which spies on your activities and display ads based upon your activities. OOO wait a minute this is a feature not a security risk ....
