What i know and not sure about is as follow:

1- RM-937, Global version, LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600, 32GB, built in wireless charging.

2- RM-938, US version, LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600, 32GB, built in wireless charging.

3- RM-939, China version, WCDMA HSPA+ version, No LTE.

4- RM-940, at&t version, LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100, 16GB, No wireless charging built in.

Any approval for the above?

Can band 4 be "enabled" via any hack or set of Phone keypad entries (similar to Android) to select the band or bands that have been disabled? any hack on XDA? I will pith-in some $$$!

Wait, I don't think that's right. I think the RM-940 supports LTE on band 4 (AT&T has LTE on band 4). Band 4 is really AWS. The problem is, AT&T doesn't use HSPA on AWS, while T-Mobile does. So the RM-940 wouldn't have HSPA on T-Mobile, only LTE or EDGE. UNLESS you are in a so-called "refarmed" area where T-Mobile is moving HSPA from AWS to PCS (1.9GHz), then the RM-940 would support HSPA on T-Mobile. And by the way, no US carrier uses 2.6GHz (which the RM-938 supports). I think it's why people refer to it as the south/central American 1520. Someone correct me if I am wrong...

With LTE, it's probably better to think in "bands" rather than exclusively in frequencies because there are so many bands splitting so much radio spectrum. A key point is that the "2100" in the RM-937 and RM-938/940 are different because the 937/938 use BOTH 1700 and 2100 to provide LTE band 4. The 938/940 don't do LTE on 1700 and LTE on 2100; they do LTE on band 4, which uses one frequency range for uploading and the other for downloading.

I am not very skilled in technology nor in english, can I just ask which one of this models could I use in Argentina? being that we use band 4 for LTE and band 28 (700 MHz) in the rural areas. Could someone recommend me one? please, and thank you.

Hello Nicholas and welcome to Windows Central.

In Argentina you want RM-938 or 1520.3 as it is sometimes called. Some sites say it is US version, but really the ATT model (RM-940) is US exclusive.

Get the RM-938. It was made for Latin American markets. You can get a Factory Unlocked 1520.3 RM-938 that will take any SIM card. Also there is a MoviStar Argentina branded variant. If you get one made for MoviStar and that is not your carrier, make sure the SIM tray is unlocked before buying.

I got mine for $485 USD brand new. Now that they are out of production I guess it is a seller's market.

Seriously. Luckily I picked up two before they all went away. One white, one black. Got em from B&H for around the same price. Might consider selling one.

Yes... The ATT RM-940 will work in Argentina so long as the SIM tray is unlocked from ATT.

This table Availability in Latin America - Microsoft - Global shows that in Argentina 1520 comes in 2 variants. A Country Variant (Factory Unlocked) and a variant specifically marketed through MoviStar. I believe both of those are RM-938

I don;t know if the carriers get the SIM tray locked to their service in Argentina. I imagine they must, or why would there be a MoviStar edition?
