Serious Nokia 1020 phone defect - static on inbound voice - all phones defective?

What is the fix for this? Nokia states it is an unknown issue but I've been through 6 phones now with same blatant defect!
They must be hiding something. Only option is to send phone to Nokia? So if all units are defective we are all going to get every single phone replaced? Wouldn't that bankrupt Microsoft?

Any advice for a real fix or off to Android forever?

This is the very first time I've heard of this, and I have plenty of friends who have various high-end Lumias (myself included). All 92x+ devices (to my knowledge) use the same hardware for calling, so if what you are saying was true... It would be a huge problem.

Turning on telecoil in ease of access fixed it for me.

I have not had this problem on my 1020. Could it be a network issue in your area? Have you tried putting your sum into another phone.

Hmm telecoil on looks to be better.... but why and what is the real fix?

Unbelievable u have to post to MB for huge defect workaround?!!!

It is not service related, Paul. Tested in great and poor. Same both ways. I have no clue why this fixes it but you should look up exactly what telecoil does.
