Is it possible to debrand an EE branded L820 which is currently running GDR3 and Amber?

Also what is the difference between

RM-825_eu_euro1_217 --- Which is unbranded and unlocked with better battery life GDR3 + Amber
RM-825_eu_euro1_310 --- Which is locked and branded EE with poor battery life GDR3 + Amber

It is possible to debrand a phone; but I am pretty sure it has to be done by the carrier for which the brand was done.

probably is, I debranded my ATT 920 to the int'l French ROM with the added bonus of an update.

Is it just a matter of using NCS in recovery mode along with an unbranded ROM for example my EE branded is 059R1W9 yet the unbranded is 059R096? Would I have to rename the initial part of the file name like I did when I debranded my old L800?

Actually scrape this thread I have managed to debrand using a similar method to restoring a dead phone and now my stated battery life has jumped from ~18 hours to ~1 day 15 hours just by using a stock rom instead of an EE branded rom
