Black Update? 520/620/720 users are with you, mate.

You'll probably receive it last, though, just like the Amber Update...

The developer preview is only for the GDR3 version of Windows Phone 8; it does not include the Lumia Black update.

What did the text say exactly? The past couple of days they seem to be also text advertising upgrading your phone to a new one for those people who have been stuck on a 2 year contract they are letting people switch to the AT&T 'Next' plan where you make monthly payments but pay full price on a new phone.

Interesting. I didn't receive one, but I think I may have opted out of those type of messages. Maybe it was meant for 925 and 1020 users and they sent it to some 920 users in error.

finally got it(BLACK UPDATE) by flashing straight to the eu French 821 rom. Was having all kinds of problems getting a complete copy of a pre portico Rogers rom to start the flash process. NCS kept saying the local file was incomplete or corrupted and I was getting the "FFU error" every time I tried to flash back to the Rogers PrePortico before going to one of the International RM-821's. So I tried what someone had said they had success doing on one of my earlier threads ...flashing straight from the GDR3 Dev Rom to the 059Q8C2 French RM-821. Worked with no problem and came already loaded with the Black Update. Persistence pays :) Now I have the unbranded Int version. Tired of bending over for ATT. I have supported the WP platform since they started, but all ATT is interested in doing is selling you a new phone, either by holding out on updates or dangling some bullsh##t "ATT Next" program in front of you that is quite simply exhorbitant pricing on a phone leasing program

This post is from Games Goblin - EDIT: This method is confirmed working! I have an AT&T 920 which I had flashed to rogers rom before and wanted to go to an rm-821 rom. By following this guide, I signed up for developer preview and updated my rogers rom to gdr3 preview - after this, I used Nokia care suite to flash my phone directly to an rm-821 rom (India) - I guess following this method will let you flash **any** rm-821 rom. Thanks a ton fiveaces01!!
