Caller id problems

I hate talking on the phone, so most of my friends either email or text me. But occasionally I do get a phone call (This is my personal phone, not a work phone). I've noticed that the phone doesn't always tell me who is calling, I'm only concerned about folks who's numbers are in my phone. I do know that some of my friends are in the phone under area code and number. When entered with the area code sometimes the phone puts a 1 in front of it. Sometimes not. But I really can't see any pattern about when the phone tells me who is calling and when it doesn't.

Do your friends block caller ID? If they choose to block it on their end, then you won't see it.

No, I was complaining to several of them, and they don't block anything. So that might be the problem sometimes but not all the time. But thanks, that was a brilliant call!!!
