I've recently cracked my screen and bought a new, replacement one, which the store described as 100% genuine and original. The fact is, the digitiser does indeed work perfectly with Amber and Black, supports super sensitive touch and its coating feels great under your finger. The chip is from Synaptics.
There's just one 'little' thing that irks me to no end:

There's a bunch of really visible dots on the screen! You can see the digitiser wires and those dots are where the wires converge. Also, note the lack of what I think should be the polarisation layer:
Try to guess which one is the old one.

I'm inclined to believe the seller here when they state the Nokia appears to have changed the digitiser specs or something and that this really is a genuine part, as they've sent me a new digitiser at absolutely no charge and it has exactly the same problem. The stickers on the digitiser had that red thingy which many genuine ones had.
Could it be that Nokia has made a part of such an appalling quality?
