Best Way to update Nokia Lumia 520

Dear Wpcentral,

I don't know , how would I update my Nokia Lumia 520 To new black Update, as There problem coming that nokia service center say that over wifi using to update your phone would lost your data in all sd card and phone too....while Nokia center had not received the black update in their computer. SO what should I do TO update it... As I am in middle of problem.Should I update or not.

As Far as backup is on for app and msg but waht about contacts and other pdf files which are in hone memory,as songs are cut and paste in SD card but all my songs on sd and phone memory got lost only folders left...

So Please any EXPERT opinion Is needed from Wpcentral.

you can always update your phone via OTA (over the air ) which does not remove or delete any of your personal data.
to do the same go to phone settings->phone updates ->check phone for update (you might need Wi-Fi connection to download the update and I would recommend you to connect your Lumia to charger since updates takes time )
