Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Have you noticed that the 1520 glitches the vieos when you save them to the SD? I have a Kingston 64gb Class 10, which should technically work. The stock app works perfectly. It annoys me because I cant dave anything right now to the SD because videos is considered as pictures in the options.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Yes, I've had the same issue. I'm saving to my phone now, just music on the card.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
I do the same. It pains me that I wasted 60 dollars in the SD card and now I can barely use it. 64gb is a lot for music.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Most SD cards are not fast enough to be of proper use for video recording on these devices. The only verified model of SD card that is nearly a 100% guarantee of success is the Sandisk Extreme Plus series. Not the Extreme series, not even the Ultra Plus or Ultra series, but Extreme Plus only.

Well, what does that mean going forward? Is this something that can be fixed through software later, or are we just doomed to using phone storage for video recording? I still have time to return the 64 Ultra that I got, so I could in theory switch cards to the extreme plus...

It means that moving forward that newer and better MicroSD cards should be fine, as long as they meet/exceed the specs of the Extreme Plus line from Sandisk....even if it's another brand. :)
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
+1 for the Extreme Plus. The Ultra Series wasn't fast enough to record 1080p video properly. The video kept on stuttering every 10 seconds or so. Returned it for the Extreme Plus and works like a charm now.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Well, I suppose I'll make a trip to best buy.

No problems with recording video on mine with that card either. Haven't heard of anyone with a problem with that Extreme Plus, just make sure that you don't get a knock-off one.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
But it's supposed to work with class 10 memory cards. I bought it at the Microsoft Store and cant exchange it because I leave in Argentina. The stock camera records 1080p 30fps but the Nokia Camera vcant even do it at 720p.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Too true. It is disappointing though that the native WP camera can record 1080p without stuttering, but the Nokia camera can't - that suggests there is still hope, and there may be some optimisations that can still be made with it to improve things...

The default camera app is also using a lower bitrate and not using the rich audio functionality that is Nokia exclusive either. That ups the amount of data being recorded per second.
Re: Video glitches with Nokia Camera
Nokia camera app oversamples the 1080p video if possible and has higher quality audio recording with stereo sound. Original camera doesn't over sample, has not as good audio and mono sound. So Nokia Camera probably needs faster SD cards to write the larger bitrate.

That sounds like an Extreme Plus, not an Extreme. Take care to use the correct model names. :P
