Anyone Tried Digiscoping ?

Hey new to the Lumia 1020 my partner got one to replace her 8X and i have been so impressed with the camera i decided to buy my own to replace my Ativ S. I almost waited for the 930 but i wanted the best camera.

Anyway my Dad passed away a few years ago out of the blue and i now own his spotting scope he always used to talk about digiscoping and i thought a great camera like the 1020 with all those megapixels would be great hooked upto a scope but i've not seen anyone that has tried it and any sample photos.

Anyway good to be here can't wait to receive my new lumia and get snapping

Can't say I've tried. Sometime I'd like to try it out because, as you say, the 1020 is rocking a bad-*** camera. Maybe you could be the first and share how it went with us?

Hahaha, thanks. Always makes my iPhone and Android wielding friends jealous.

Took quite a few tries to get, however. Due to the long exposure time, and the fact the stars are so small (relatively speaking, of course), even Nokia's fantastic OIS couldn't pick up the slack for my shakey hands.

Finally found a place where I could lie my phone down and have it face up directly at the sky, and the result is what you see posted here.

Digiscoping would be interesting, its something I intend to try when I get a chance. My worry is the camera wont be able to focus given the lens cant focus closer than 15cm anyway... Either way only one way to find out.

A nice picture of a Limpkin taken from about 300ft with Nokia 1020's Nokia Camera App. using a PhoneSkope 1020 adapter on a Vortex Razor HD 85mm scope with 10-60X eyepiece (42mp raw original prior to cropping and developing into jpg with Photoshop CC plug-ins (Perfect Photo Suite 8) and DxO Optics Pro 9 (Nokia 1020 preset). I found the quality matched or exceeded similar shots taken with my Canon 60D 100-400L + Canon 2X extender!!
