Since getting the 928, call quality is absolutely atrocious

I recently just got a Lumia 928 (coming from my Z10) and I love the phone. I had it before and found one here on WPC so I couldn't resist going back. I love the phone, but call quality is terrible. People can hear me fine, but for me, their voices fade in and out and most of the time I can't even hear them AT ALL. Even when the call quality is "good", it's still quite a bit fuzzier than it was on my Z10. I am running 8.1, so I don't know if that would do it. But does anyone else have this issue or have any fixes? I doubt there are any, but it's definitely worth a shot! ;)

Sounds like you have a bad unit. I have a 928 and 8.1 and don't have any of those issues.

​Have you tried doing a hard reset?

I have not, but would that really work? It sounds more like a hardware than software problem. However, I bought the phone with 8.1 on it so I wouldn't know.

So just for the h3ll of it I took my SIM card out, cleaned it and the slot, put it back in, and rebooted my phone. Seems to have fixed it! Carry on people ;)

If it happens again, try pressing your finger firmly against the back of the phone, just above and to the right of the camera (opposite side of the flash). If you can hear through the earpiece while pressing that spot, you have a hardware issue and a defective unit. Get it replaced for a brand new device if you can, otherwise send it to Nokia for repair.
