Exclamation point boot loop

Hi all,

My brother handed me his 920 to try to fix. It won't charge, and only shows the Nokia logo followed by the exclamation point for about 15-20 seconds when I plug it in. It then cycles back off and on to the Nokia logo again, rinse and repeat indefinitely..

I can't get anything different even with the secret volume and power button combos for hard reset and whatnot.. He had dropped this phone in water to begin all this. What do you think, it done or its there a chance at something?

Something has sorted the volume rocker to only press up.

You should have tried to dry it first. I have heard of the rice method where you keep your device inside a bowl full of rice and keep it for 72 hours. You can only try and if you are lucky your phone might start.

I understand. This isn't my phone, as I said. Just trying to help my brother out.
