Saving apps & games on SD card

I recently purchased a SD card & updated my Lumia 1520 to 8.1. I love everything about it since I can install most apps & all games to my SD card. For some reason apps & games take up more space on my SD then they would on my phone. Is this normal? For example asphalt 8 is only 949 MB but when installed on the SD card it requires 1.67 GB. Apps are much worse Music+ is 4mb but installed on the SD card is 50.88 that's crazy. Any input is appreciated

Every app will consume more memory as soon they are installed. The size they mention is the amount which is download size . As soon they install they get extracted.
