I got the chance to play with the 930 yesterday. Was quite impressed with the indoor images taken, seems like the noise level is quite well controlled even at ISO 400. Was too excited that I forgot to BT the pictures over to my phone. Really a beautiful phone in all 4 colors.

How good were the low light images? Better than 1520? How good is the video recording? Hope it doesn't the crappy video recording which 1520 produces?

Yes, if I may say so based on my short time playing with it at the booth. Of course this is more of an early impression. I understand that the camera is exactly the same as the 1520, the only difference being the Cyan update to the image processing. It does seem to make a difference. I didn't try recording video but improvement to high ISO performance should benefit videos as well.

I may get another chance to go again this Friday. Hope to do some further testing together with the demo 1520 and my own 1020 :)

Just reporting back- I was there today but didn't get a chance to play with the 930. And for a good reason, the place was packed with people checking out the latest Lumia devices. There were only two 930s available for demo and I would rather not hog the devices from potential buyers. It seems most of the interest was on the 630 and 1320 though.

I'm still undecided, dont know if the 930 will be my to go phone i currently have a 1020 and Z2, and had a 1520 before i did not really liked its image quality and it was a tad too big. I'm hoping MS releases a succesor to the 1020 otherwise i will check out the 930 if the camera quality is good enough.

The 930 has exactly the same camera as the 1520. The image quality is mediocre. It's not really bad by last year's standards but other phones have dramatically better shooters.

The cyan update apparently improves the camera so would be good to see a before and after comparison. Before cyan, and after the update.

Can't compare it to the 1520 as I don't have one anymore, but I'm still not blown away by the picture quality

Some have felt that the 1520's camera have somewhat underperformed relative to its true potential. I suspect that the coming Cyan update is not just a simple tweak in the image processing algorithm, but something else at a more fundamental. In fact, Juha confirmed that the changes involves how the data is read from the sensor and would even improve the quality of the RAW images.

I gave a shot today. Same as Lumia 1520, the low night performance without flash(using Nokia Camera) is still creepy with lot of noises. Also, the picture looked blur. :(

So if under low night condition, the flash must always turn on.

"Creepy" in relation to which other camera phone? 920/925 or some other phones?
