Swipes registered as taps - Widespread issue?

I'm experiencing a major issue with how swipes are being detected as taps on my 930 - resulting in massive frustration while navigating apps horizontally. It doesn't happen in all apps and doesn't happen at all on my 920. Major offenders are Games, Videos, Music, Metrotube.

It seems this was a big issue on the 1520 too:

Anyone else experiencing it?

Daniel Rubino has experienced this on his Lumia 1520 as well.

I used to experience this in a few apps(primarily Whatsapp) but after most of those apps got updated, I don't think I've experienced it on the last few weeks.

No one else noticed this? I tried my friends 930 today and it did the same thing.

Did some further testing in app and it appears that it's not just limited to some apps, but certain tiles in those apps. For example, the first 2 long tiles in Video app are fine when swiped, but the 3rd and 4th ones always will register taps. I'm almost certain now that this is an app issue in specific apps.

I have this issue. Pita. I only noticed it on my 1520. My l920, 925,and 810 dis not have this problem. I thought it was related just to this phone or maybe the dev preview for 8.1. But the L925 has the same update but without this problem. For me, it is not tile specific. It happens all over the OS and in all kinds of different apps. It's a pain but one I haven't complained about cause I love the phone so much and I over looked it. It doesn't happen often enough for me to gripe.maybe 2 or 3 times a day it will register the swipe incorrectly and I simply use the back arrow and swipe again for it to work. Maybe not always on the first try but definitely by the second.

Seems like either a screen size or resolution, something unoptimized in the WP8.1 code base? On the 1520 it happens even on the start screen, and in TapaTalk it happens all the time.

Except that it happens all over the place on the 1520 and that one doesn't even have 8.1 yet

Sorry, I meant WP8 and WP8.1. When WP8 was released there were no 6" phones, but my now you'd hope that the software would be optimized for large screens as well. But it doesn't look like this. Assuming it's a software / firmware problem, maybe related to scaling of touch coordinates.

I cant replicate any issue in videos, swipes are swipes and taps are taps. If you give me another scenario I can test too on mine but all video tiles working fine here.

Only times I've had swipes register in taps, were when using apps which don't support the swipes... such as the radio (searching for stations by name).

Otherwise, swiping for emails and texts has been blinkin' amazing! :)

I'm monitoring this closely. Part of the reason I'm considering a switch to the 930 from my 1520 is the widespread swipe/tap bug.

I used to have this problem with Adobe Photoshop Express and it would always open the Adobe Revel sign in screen however I have just now tried to replicate and the issue has appeared to been resolved.
