The 530 will be a MASSIVE flop, what are you thinking MS???? Only 512 MB RAM!!!!!

I think Microsoft should have named this 530 as 430 instead. That's the price at which it will eventually retail. Would have saved us the trouble of this forum thread as the main debate is about features for the price. So for ?30 this phone is bang on awesome. I don't see ANY competing phones at this price certainly not hangdroids which well hang on lower hardware. Its a good attempt by Microsoft to capture extremely entry level smartphone customers.

To the OP, were it not for the 520's middling 512MB of RAM there may not have been a WP8.1. The 520's success is what put WP on the map in the first place. It may not be as sexy as a Moto G but then again, it's not an Android device. So in closing, let me quote a popular phrase from my early adult years - "Whachu talkin' 'bout Willis?"

4 GB internal memory is way too less. The OS itself takes up 3GB of memory leaving a meagre 1 GB or less of storage. The contacts+email stores the data in the phone memory so there will be very less storage space left. Wish it had 8 GB internal memory.

I'm totally new to WP, but 512 RAM on my Lumia 530 feels like 1GB RAM on an Android phone. WP uses RAM efficiently just like iPhone, unlike Android phones.

Agreed, but at least you can put up to a 128 GB SD card in it, and you can basically install everything to SD with 8.1, unlike Android.

You're right, the 4S is worlds better than the 520 so it's not a fair fight. No offence to WP or Nokia, but it is the truth.
