Lumia 920 is on sale here in the Philippines for Php 9,500 (approximately $220) until the end of the month. Im considering getting one so I want to ask everyone who had tried using it with 8.1. How does it perform with 8.1? How about its battery life?

re:

Can't properly answer you because I don't have WP8.1 on mine yet and I doubt anyone else who do have it the official release that is, can also properly advise you as all reports show that it's not the finished article as yet because after the cyan update which includes firmware and the OS update MS is to release 2 more updates to complete WP8.1 by yr end so any response to your ? from anyone wouldn't accurately give you a "true" response as to how the OS update is running. They would be giving any response on a 95% completed OS which today still has a few bugs and kinks to iron out before properly announcing its arrival to the stage where Android Kit Kat 4.4 and IOS 7 soon to be 8 now sits. So please take any response that you may get and know that not every WP8 device has not received the WP8.1 update and only after every in use device has received the update and running it for approx a month can you then get the answer you're looking for.

You can get a decent mint 920 for less than $200 these days. I've bought and sold a couple and yes, it's still one of the best phones to get (previous gen) to get the best overall feeling of the Lumia lineup. I've been using a pentaband 920 w/ 8.1 on it and it has been performing smoothly and without any bugs (touch wood), only complain is battery life had degraded since it was on Black+GDR3, but that's the case with my 925 on 8.1 as well, both are awaiting the Cyan firmware (from T-Mobile and Rogers) and that's when battery life would become better. Again the 920 is a pure champ and it has all the bells and whistles what a flagship Lumia should have. You should definitely buy it if you're on a strict budget.

On a side note, don't you have the 1020 and 1520 on a huge discounted sale?

re:

Where have you seen this promo? 920 is nearing EOL. I can recommend it if I haven't heard or seen the MS-Abenson/Electroworld promo last 3weeks ago which is 50 - 70% price slash for the later gen lumias(1320, 1020, 1520).

Definitely, especially if you are getting it at a cheap price. There's nothing the 925 can do that the 920 can't (920 can do some things more, wireless charging etc.)

re:

If you are getting it for grabs, just go and get it! It is just best, 32gb internal memory, solid built, hell of a windows phone.
Still today, my phone runs 8.1 PDP and its awesome.
There no new features that make the 925, 930, 1520 worth buying imho.

re:

The only thing I want that 1520 and 930 users have is the continuous autofocus while taking pictures. With 920's spec, I believe it is possible that it is able to have it too! Specially knowing that it can do it while shooting video.

re:

I just bought one for my daughter in January and another for my husband last month. Mine will be 2 years old in April 2015 and I'm not looking forward to replacing it. We're running the developer preview of 8.1 on all three and will be getting the cyan firmware update when AT&T gets around to releasing it.

Other than the 1020 and the behemoth 1520, I haven't seen any phone with the curvy, ergonomic design of the 920. With 32 GB storage and 1 GB RAM, it will certainly get the job done. The 920 takes decent pictures and video, but if you're an absolute photo junky who plans to make large prints, you might want to look at the 1020.

When I bought mine in spring 2013, the off-contract price was $450. If you can get it for much less now, grab it.

Mine is running cyan update (Ita, no brand). Everything works well and flawlessly (only one minor bug: in save battery mode screen does not reduce luminosity). Pictures are far above average, even nowadays, video and audio recording quality is outstanding.
Definitely worth it.
