I already own a 1020 and 925 and don't utilize half the features available NFC, Wallet and etc. I am not a big app guy and mainly use my phone for basic business functions and social media and thought I would give the 635 a spin. Well, I am happy that I did and I am enjoying my experience

Functionally, I have all hardware that I really need - QuadCore, LTE, Bluetooth, Interchangeable Battery and SD Card Slot. The form factor is perfect for my hands and the phone is light weight as compared to my other devices. I love the interchangeable backs and the idea of keeping a spare charged battery around if I needed it. The look of the 635 is similar to an iPhone 5C and feels great in my hand.

The only feature that I miss is the ambient light sensor as I don't like having to adjust screen brightness when out doors. The camera is obviously no where near the quality of the 925 or 1020 but it was not to be expected in a sub $100 device. The pictures are good compared to other phones in its class and I don't take a lot of snap shots so this didn't weigh heavily for me.

What I do love, with windows phone, is the integration with O365. We utilize O365 for work - Lync, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange - and the L635 doesn't miss a beat.

On the App side, I don't use many and I am not a gamer so I am fine with the 512MB. I mainly use Facebook, Messenger, Lync, Calendar, WP Central, LinkedIn, HomeDepot, Lowes, Amazon, Mix Radio, Pandora, OneDrive, OneNote and Office.

All around I find the L635 to be a solid device for those not needing all the bells and whistles of a flag ship device but still gaining all the positives of the windows phone platform in a cool little package.

I'm about that far into my ownership experience and I love the 635 more and more every day! I need to dig into simple game apps more - I have Backgammon which I love, and the MS Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Mahjongg. Need some more simple time killer games - I wish there was a Pinochle game.

The few pictures I've taken with the camera show that it's much much better than the 5MP camera in my previous phone, an HTC T-Mobile G2 despite having no flash. Better optics. I need to take some video today to see how that works - my G2 did 720P video fairly well, but the sound was horrendous.
