I was going through my local Walmart and there was a big end-cap for T-Mobile with the 635 for $99. Happy shopping... I guess the price dropping has begun. $168 from T-Mobile, $129 Microsoft Store, $119 HSN and now the x-factor of Walmart.

It figures. I bought mine from T-Mobile because I needed a new phone and a cheaper plan than Sprint. I didn't even know until later that I had bought it the day after it came out on T-Mobile. I wish I had known how much cheaper it would be now!

Can you do the $30/month prepaid 100 minutes/unlimited text/5GB 4G data plan buying the phone this way?

I really dislike Walmart, but if I can snag it for cheaper, quicker, and in person, I just might have to.

Sure you can. If you already have a phone using the $30 prepaid plan, just put the SIM from that phone and install it in the 635. Otherwise, the $30 prepaid is for new Tmo activations. No need to get that Walmart starter SIM .... just go activate online, register the phone for new customer. Fill out all the things they ask. Insert the new SIM and go from there. This is how me and 2 friends did this when we all were new Tmo customers.

.... I should add, when on the Tmo activation page. Look for Prepaid plans. There you will see the $30/100 minute plan as one of the choices.

Definitely tempting then. I'm coming from Virgin Mobile and I love their combination of price point ($35) and plans (300 minutes/unlimited text/unlimited data - possible throttle after 2.5GB), but I don't love their 3G speed (abysmal) and being tied to CDMA.

I was thinking 630 through Cricket, but then I noticed that it's HSPA and speed will be capped. While T-Mobile doesn't have perfect coverage near me, it seemed to do the trick when I did an iPhone 5S Test Drive. I think I'll take the much faster speeds with the slightly less reliable (than VM/VZW/AT&T) coverage. I don't live in the boonies, either. Ann Arbor/Detroit/Detroit suburbs.

Damn good phone even @ the $129 Microsoft Store price I got mine at

Overall I think MS Store is the best deal with the $50 Promo that includes case and extended warranty. Not sure how it is running but choice of any 635 case in the store and there extended warranty. so $179 total and your literally covered case and insurance.

Of course my VM plan auto-renewed for another month today. I still might snag one of these phones at this price and just wait a month to activate.

It is Walmart that sells that plan and where I bought my plan at. Some sales ppl might try to steer u to the Walmart Family mobile plan so be careful.

I just went to local Walmart, sale people didn't have a clue but one nice guy went and checked. The shipping box had just arrived so he brought one out for me. When they scanned it was $129, wonder if your store priced it as a AT&T one.

In my local Walmart it was a big T-Mobile end display in electronics with a shelf tag of $99. Weird

Local store doesn't even have the AT&T ones yet..

WalMart as Crossings Drive in Rocklin CA. has the 635 for $99.00.
Just got home from that location and it was in the store.
Lots of them...the counter person said he had sold 2 today so far and around 20 of them since they hung them up in the electronics department on Saturday.

Well clearly i'm a winner!! :crying:

Looks like the 635 hasn't been made available on-line at WM either (I just looked)
Might be a loss leader in certain stores...

In the the spirit of being pre-angry I will predict this model at $89.00 or below this coming weekend
I'll keep the eye on Amazon too...

Debating buying now and holding it for a month to activate or see if it drops. I dunno, $99.99 seems like a steal. Will it really drop any lower? Especially with the likes of Cricket selling out their 630 inventory.

I don't get mine until Friday, can you kindly measure the screen?
It drives me crazy that it's advertised as a 4.5 screen, but not sure if onscreen buttons makes it actually smaller.

Darn crappy pic...

It does measure 4.5 inches...however the onscreen buttons hack off 1\4 inch there.
The keypad is on par with my 925 though...easy to swype on.

Looks like the 635's usable screen is .25 inches larger than the 520\521

Thanks! So does the screen feel that much bigger?
Apparently it does have a 16:9 aspect ratio, this should make most videos now fill the screen.
The 15:9 AR was one(very very small) issue I had with the 521.
