Forever spinning cog on my lumia 820 while updating.

My lumia 820 is on spinning cog for the last 1.5 hr .I'm on Developer preview and updating to windows phone 8.1 update. What should i do? Should I soft reset it?

Pls reply fast.

I left the phone on charging. Waiting and hoping that all will be alright.
Any more suggestion is welcome.

My 1320 was on the cogs screen for close to 30 minutes before finishing the update

45 minutes or so.

Remove memory card and sim from your phone. It will update now.

My 820 (3-UK) downloads the update but after restart spinning gears appear and shortly afterwards say cant update phone its probably a temporary problem. Try again, go to settings, phone update. (0x80188308). Tired 4 times now and same result each time. Any ideas or help

Perform a soft resent and manually sync all your accounts as well as time and date

Cant update the Mircosoft account on phone despite changing the settings as you suggested.

For spinning cogs and no status bar movement. Remove your SD Card and soft reset your phone (Vol Down and Power) that will get the update going.

Thanks man, I removed the SD card and the update is showing progress. I left it on the whole night but it didn't update because of the SD card.

after downgrading to black and updated till DP 8.1 without any problem. But GDR1 won't install without removing memory card and sim. It seems because of memory card this problem is occurring.
