True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
i have 2 RM-877's both TELUS versions (sale at microsoft store, got spare) one has black, other updated to cyan, both without DP. when i run the system information app the black one shows 300MB of application memory, the cyan one shows the 825MB app memory of a 2 GB device. so the extra gig was not locked to the camera after all...
Re: True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
Which app are you using to show RAM info?

insider: windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/insider/d9b7989e-1592-4f25-a556-4755c06bf2e9 (free version) shows 1GB but says this comes from MSDN and may be lower than actual and shows 780MB as the memory usage limit
and finally msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj681682(v=vs.105).aspx explains 780 is avalable on 2GB devices, and 300MB on 1GB, both the limits for non silverlight apps.
Re: True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
I'm seeing 825MB of app memory too and I'm still on Black but with GDR1.
Re: True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
Out of curiosity, and slightly off-topic:
How much was the sale on the telus version? Which Microsoft store location? Wouldn't mind picking one up for a decent price off contract if i could

Same here. 825 MB available on Lumia Black, WP 8.1 Update 1.

bought it from the microsoft store at west edmonton mall in april, for 500 plus GST and the camera grip was half off at the time also. as i never bought a 808 and am a shutterbug i thought it a good idea to have an extra. both the grip and phone were on sale only in the physical store, not on the web. the telus one is no longer offered, they have the rogers, and the unlocked one now.
Re: True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
Thanks for the reply WPGeek. I had seen it there recently for $600, but I was hoping perhaps they were clearing out the Telus version in-store like they did with the HTC 8X a while back.
$550 is a bit too high considering that Microsoft has an event coming on Sept 4 and a new phone may be around $700 (Lumia 1020 sequel likely as Microsoft readies pre-IFA 2014 event | News | TechRadar)

That App provides incorrect info on a few things on my 1520, so I don't know how much we can accurately get from it.

For WP8.1 apps, they get 800MB memory on 2GB device like Lumia 1020. There is an MSDN article explaining memory constraints.
Re: True 2GB of RAM with cyan on 1020
At the Insider app, it is showing my L 1520 having 1GB of total memory. Am I being shortchanged? Where can I find my RAM info and usage in phone settings? It doesn't seem to show.

It also says you have a 720p screen and a much smaller resolution camera. ;). Its not an accurate App.

Well, if he is still on WP 8.0 then this is correct. WP 8.0 Update 3 reports the device's real 1080p screen as 720p with a certain scaling factor to the apps.

Nope, I'm on 8.1 update 1. I have a 1520.
