See, its only estimated time remaining. Its not the fixed time. If you play games, browse internet that'll change, again if you restrict some apps in background, use your phone a bit less, it'll easily last for more than a day.

Hey, very close to biting the bullet on the Lumia 735. As it's basically the same as the 730 I hope you do not mind me posting here.

How is the camera quality on a day to day basis - is it difficult without a dedicated camera button?

Is a screen protector and/or case recommended? Thanks!

I would be upgrading from a 520 so what should I expect really in terms of performance? 520 still kinda runs one app at a time well but there are definitely occasions where it close apps by itself.

1. Cam quality is superb. You would love it be it the front or rear one. You wont miss the hard key.
Tip: Just add Camera as Quick Status icon in notification + action center. So, it will be just swipe down and launch cam. Its upto the user as its subjective:-)

2. I don't find a need for screen protector as it has gorilla glass which is scratch resistant. Also, I am not sure if there is a dedicated screen guard available yet. So folks can suggest if they got one.

3. 730/735 is equipped with quad core processor plus 1 gigs of RAM which is practically double than what 520 has got. Along with those, 730/735 are preloaded with Denim firmware. Therefore, app performance will be smooth and I guarantee that:)

2. No need really. Except for when you will us it glass on surface and have it moving+sand. So really no need due to Gorilla Glass 3. When you want to: Skinomi has a custom cut screen protector which are considered to be very good. Especially for phones with a curved display.

What should I do? I switched off NFC and other such things and don't use anything other than Wi-Fi. But still, my battery is draining at a rate of 1% per 2-3 minutes. Damn.

2 days of usage means not much of networking and limits to normal use such using apps that don't require internet and no gaming. It has to be minimal usage. If you moderately use your phone keeping internet connection on for almost everytime, it will averagely last for 12-14 hours. It quickly gets drained upon power usage i.e doing everything like playing games for hours or downloading large data and background apps that perpetually use your phone's battery. In my case, battery gets drained in 6-7 hours which is reasonable.

You can limit apps that don't need to run in background using battery app.

The 730 has a 2200 mAh battery. I think it should last for more that 14-16 hours.

I dont have a 720 but in general i would say battery is better than average. lasts minimum of 1.5 days for me with 3g turned on and using whatsapp and 3 email accounts the whole time, occasional photos and music . to get the maximum out of my battery i use dark color themes .

What do you mean by low standards? Didn't you get what iI said? If you continuously use your phone with hours of game play and multiple activities that require much of battery power, then wont your phone last for 6-7 hours? I referred this timeframe for exceptionally high usage. Hope you get what I meant.

No, you already have WP 8.1 so there is no point. So stay chilled :)

It will let you use new OS builds before public release. That's the benefit of DP. Denim is just firmware update and does not come up with the latest OS version. GDR 2 is looming and to enjoy new features before public release you need developers preview. I am running my 730 on DP and have not seen any instability at all. Its completely glitch free. Hope that helps!

Sunday 11/09/2014 will complete two weeks with my Lumia 730 and would like to make some notes about my experience with the device

- The Application HERE Drive makes the devices absurdly warm. I even thought that it would burn or something.

- If the device is a Snap 400 Quad-Core 1GB Ram thought that games would run smoothly. Where's my water? I bought the game yesterday with framerate is noticeably lower than 30fps (should be 60) closes sometimes alone. Hungry Shark Evolution game also varies <30fps and closes alone sometimes. My wife has an iPhone 3GS and Where's my water runs at 60fps. Why? because 600MHz processor and 256MB of RAM is superior? No! Because the game was optimized for the video card in it. Why Disney did not optimized their games to rotate the Adreno 305 boards? Subway surfers is at> 30fps. Rival Knights (Gameloft) was so slow that I think it was at around 12-15fps and then uninstalled it. Epic Angry Birds (Rovio) (turn-based game) was about <30fps slow showing at various times. This also uninstalled then. Those who ran at 60fps yet were only Angry Birds Rio and Zombie Tsunami. Here record my dissatisfaction with Disney and Gameloft with their games that are not optimized for WP. When I tried to do the classification could not give 1 star. Simply does not approve the sending of qualification. I do not know why. I've had experience with Android and iOS, and in this case I have to commend the iOS because they have really great integration between Software and Hardware. Funny, Maleficent Free Fall has a very heavy 3D graphics, but it was not as slow as Hungry Shark That Is only cartoon and Where's my water That Also only cartoon.

- As I am more pleased with it, it's the first time I have a WP. Have not tested the full power of the camera and its applications, but first impressions were very good.

How is my first maybe I'm doing something wrong or overestimated the specs of the device. I appreciate the feedback.

Oh then you are better of with iPhones because they are the only device that satisfy you as games or apps are made for ios then only ported to other os.wp can be enjoyed only when you are very little app user game user nd coming from low end android running jelly bean .It is because after coming from such device you will feel what it means smooth os lagless experience is.Disclaimer I have not tried android kk or L I don't know .whatever hd games I played I played on lumia 820 which will heat when you stress a lot.
