I just got mine in and I can also confirm that wireless charging works just fine. Any information to the contrary is either a lie or a broken part.

Ordered the orange cover from fonejoy, and white one from a vendor in China. Look great. HOWEVER, I can confirm there are definite qi charging problems present. On my DT-910, I can get it to work by elevating the phone of the charger, and keeping it left off center. On my dt-900, I fight it each night trying to find that special magic spot that gets it to charge. Love the covers, may have to use the technique described above and try to move the coil from my black cover to the orange and see how that works, but the coils in these eBay parts are definitely not aligned properly.

Not sure why, but I figured that these covers should have been fairly built proof on this.... Also from Nokia care:

Thank you for getting back to us.

You have stated that you have bought your cover via a vendor from England and the other cover was from a vendor from China. In response to this, your device is exclusive from AT&T and supports PAM and Qi Wireless charging standard. However, products that were purchased from a third-party store are not guaranteed to be worked with your device.

Moreover, we would like to inform you that we do have not yet a back cover available in the market that is compatible with your device. For your reference, you may visit the link below:

Let me ask this..... Where does one get a couple of replacement back plates for an att Lumia 830? After pondering, the att warranty is probably tied to the back plates that came with it, and I'd rather massacre an honest to god spare if I'm going to attempt to peel up the qi coil.

Yes I would like to get a L830 AT&T back plate as well. I do not care which colour. The reason That I want to get it here in the UK is to see if my phone will charge in my CR-201 car charger. Right now, my L830 will NOT charge in the car charger with the QI only back plate that is standard supply here in the UK. I am aware that the AT&T back plate has two different coils fo rth etwo charging standards and they seem to charge perfectly ok in the car charger. CAn anyone pointme in the direction of buying a L830 AT&T back plate for this trial ?

Can I ask a slightly off-topic, but related question?

Is the wireless charging shell very heavy? I currently have an 820 and am considering an 830 upgrade but weight is an issue, and I really want to get down below 140g. When I ditched the wireless charging shell on my 820 for an ordinary one I saved nearly 20g.

Now, there doesn't seem to be an non-charging shell for the 830 but maybe the charging wiring can be prised out. On the other hand, maybe these newer wireless charging shells are lighter than before anyway, so it won't save me anything...?

    Any info appreciated,

    Thanks

Just threw my extra plate on our kitchen scale.

    It's reading as 13 grams.

I had the 820 before the 830 and can say that it is far lighter in the hand then the 820 . The charging shell is also much thinner and lighter then the shell on the 820. And even though the 8309 shell is thinner it sits snugly within the strong aluminium frame of the phone and, as. A result, is very rigid.

The technique to get the orange UK version to work properly on a at&t L830 on a Nokia dt-910 qi stand is to tilt the phone at a angle (with the bottom left corner touching the center of the stand) til the led light shows up and face the phone, back in it's vertical position and the phone should charge fine.

I also got a new 830. It's green. Would anyone be interested in swapping their orange one?
