I have been the proud owner of a yellow 920 for almost 2 years. I love the design, and I absolutely love it's bright yellow colour. I get a kick that in meetings everyone whips out their iPhones and Samsungs, whilst my yellow 920 stands out by a country mile.

Lately my phone has been feeling it's age. It is a little slow in opening apps and taking photos. The screen is not as impressive as it used to be, especially alongside my wife's new iPhone 6.

The 930 has only recently gone on official sale here. I first saw it in white and orange, and wasn't too impressed with the design. I should also note that I didn't see them turned on. Whilst I adore my yellow 920, the orange on the 930 seems a little loud for me, and also I was put off by the mat silver metal band around the phone. A few days ago, however, I saw the black version for the first time, and since the metal band around the phone is also black, I liked it's design much better. I was also able to turn it on, and was immediately stuck by it's gorgeous screen. It is much sharper than the screen on my 920, and the extra half inch in size is quite substantial.

My dilemma, therefore, is whether I should stick with my 920 due to it's very unique design, and wait for the next flagship phone, or whether I go for the more conservative design but improved specs of the 930.

The 930 is a capable flagship and bar the lack of glance it is an upgrade in every aspect to the 920. Not to mention the camera goodies denim will bring the Lumia 930 :). I too love the 920 and it's pillow back design, the weight is an non-existent issue for me. I have a white lumia 920 and it is still in mint condition 25 months on minus the two little scratches on the screen - one was my fault and the other was thanks to Clove - "quality testing"..

According to the latest article in regards to the schedule of Windows, we may not see flagships for another 6 to 12 months. However of course that is speculative and MS might just out of the blue announce something like the L535.

So if you can't wait to upgrade get the 930 or if you can then there is plenty of space in the queue for W10 flagships :p.

Take it. It's gorgeous, you have to wait probably 6 months for, maybe, new flagship and what could be new or better than L930? I mean that quad core 2,2, 20mp camera, 2gb ram and other specs of L930 are too good for next 2 years. And just note the price of new flagship when it comes out.

I've had my 930 about two months, having upgraded from a RED 920. I have gone for the green back and it looks cool and distinctive - and what's more, that aluminium surround means I don't feel I have to match the screen background to the colour of the phone.

I do miss Glance. 64GB or 128GB options would have been good and the OS needs more optimisation for the device, but that's about all there is to gripe about.

The 930 is a worthy successor to the 920.

You should definitely go for a 930. I had a L920 shortly after it was launched (Dec.2012). But, the 930 is a definite upgrade. I kinda miss the Glance Screen, but the features that 930 has, and the ones expected with Denim update later this month, they totally compensate for that. The screen is much sharper and brighter, and the camera is just amazing. With the Denim update, the camera would improve even more. 920 was good, but 930 is best now. I was using a black L920, and I got a green 930, totally in love with it.

I have the red 920, got it the day they came out. Bought an orange 930 3 weeks ago. Cracking phone. Don't miss glance now. The camera isn't as good in low light but hopefully denim should fix that. Screen is superb and phone feels great to hold. I say go for it.

Yop, If you came from a 920, the 930 is a huge step forward: screen size, aluminium body, oled, weight
Battery life:
-920 stand-by ---> 2.5%/h
-930 stand-by ---> 1%/h

I went from 920 to 930 and it was a very good decision. 930 is much better than 920 in every way and the price is very good. I bought mine, few days old, on ebay.de for 300?.

This was taken last night when I went to see the WHO in concert in the NIA (ICC) Birmingham.

I also took pics with the 920 to compare, and the 930 beat it hands down.

So I am revising my earlier comment saying the 920 was superior in low-light. The 930 is better right now and will be even better after DENIM

i'm also thinking of going from my yr old white l920 to a black l930. most important feature for me is the camera. so how much better is the l930 camera? i'd rate the l920 camera as 6/10. what scores would you give both the l920 and l930 cameras?

I switched from 920 to 930, and I think that on cyan, 930 camera isn't much better from 920, but after Denim the gap will be bigger. Anyway I think that the change of 920 to 930 is worth and good move.
