    A photo I want to text is 3MB - is there a way to limit/shrink the size of a photo if it's a certain size, before sending.. or does it have to be done manually?

    If the image is too big, you would be better off adding it to OneDrive and sharing the link via OneDrive. OneDrive for Windows Phone: FAQ - OneDrive Help

    That's just as much 'work' as manually compressing it though. There's no way to auto -compress through the texting app? If I'm not mistaken there's androids that have that capability.
