Will the 1520 continue to have support?

Support as for updates and software. Since it has more than a year out. I'm asking just to know if I should change my 830 for a 1520. Is it a good option?

Absolutely! The 1520 without a doubt, as ALL WP8 handsets have been confirmed to get Windows 10 once it comes out next year. I don't see the 1520 losing support anytime soon at all.

Well, taking into account that the 1520 appears to be THE flagship device after the rollout of Denim materializes, supporting (almost?) every feature the OS has in store, I guess the answer should be YES.

So far as I can tell... 930/Icon not having Glance enabled and One (M8) not getting Denim makes 1520 THE ONLY ONE to get EVERYTHING coming in the next OTA official.

1520 is in a different league as a phablet. It's the flagship and the green revision refreshed it.

It'll be relevant for a long time still, at least into 2016. It's a good buy.

are you sure?

I am... Look here: http://lumiaconversations.microsoft.com/2014/09/04/lumia-denim-update/

"Hey Cortana" is not coming to any phone with less than a Snapdragon 800. This is well established and cuts out everything except 930/Icon, 1520 and HTC One (M8) for Windows... Only 3 left just based on that.

According to the conversation (linked), "Hey Cortana" is Denim Firmware and HTC will not get that, but never mind; HTC could put the feature in their own firmware. And while One (M8) already has HDR... I don't believe it will ever get Moment Capture features such as Denim brings to 930/Icon and 1520. Just 2 left.

Glance Screen improvements are part of Denim as well... 930/Icon does not and can not have Glance enabled... Just one left... 1520.

Unless you know something I don't?

Yes, I was looking at getting one but note that it is now showing as discontinued in a lot of places. Think I'll wait a little longer.

I'm not disputing what you say at all...

This makes no sense as a strategy. Pull the only high$$$ WP phone on sale at any US carrier (Vzw dropped Icon) just before the holiday and advise customers who want to spend money to wait 3 months.

I think these Reps must have misunderstood something.
