My phone's screen turns black a number of times now. Navigation keys are working and lights up. I can still hear the alarms and notification sounds. It sometimes takes more than 24 hours to resume to its normal function itself. Soft reset (vol down + power button) is a hit and miss and most of the time I'm getting the screen below.

I tried to connect the phone to a PC but it did not recognized because the phone is locked. I don't know if there's another way to unlock it.

Right now I still have the phone issue for 2 days now. Hope somebody can help. The phone is running Cyan.

It looks like a display hardware problem. Did you drop your phone or did it get a shock of some sort? It could be a display cable problem as well

I saw the same on my 820 and 925 screens as the attached image. Not sure exactly how it happened because my daughter "did" it. She is also not sure how she did it but it happened sometimes when she used YouTube in IE and scrolled down fast to "find" video's. I got it always fixed with a soft reset and in case of the 820 I had to get the battery out sometimes.

I did not drop the phone recently, pankaj981

That screen is what I usually get when I try the soft reset instead of the Nokia logo then goes black again. I am hoping it will wake up soon so I can back up files before sending it to Nokia Care

My 920 did that on occasion. Holding volume and power at the same time for about 10 seconds would restart it and it would be OK.
