Hi,

On my sons account its currently set to his gmail address. However the phones stopped updating apps and it looks like it now needs to be outlook or Hotmail address for the lead account.

Any way to do this without a factory reset....

Was fine until a Windows 8.1 update...
Thanks

Barry

Agreed; it was idd a move that made a lot of users go berserk, but I can see why it would be necessary from a "security" standpoint

A Gmail address works fine.

Realwarder has a point tho.. I recently had an issue with the store as well, but a simple soft reset resolved it right away

Check your time and date are correct. Also, if the phone is set to automatically update the time (Settings/Date+Time), try and turn that off and reboot the phone. If that makes no difference, turn it back on.

Another suggestion is to log into your Microsoft Account again in the settings.
