Does someone have a 1020 to compare pic quality with 930 running Denim?

JaniM - there's a difference in the outside pics in the snow. the 930 looks like it was dark out, while the 1020 looks like it was still twilight. My question would be - which one most closely captures what it really looked like?

It was somewhere between those two. I remember how i thought that 930 unerexposed a bit and I was a bit amazed how 1020 captured so much light. 930 was closer, though. Both were shot about 8:30 in the morning. There was a car driving towards as you can see from the picutre captured with 930, maybe that's what made it underexpose the photo a bit.

And those close up shots, here's a couple:

I noticed something strange, I've never seen my 1020 do that before. Notice how the picture is green inside and purplish outside...

While there are some vignetting it's nearly not as bad as with 1020. I'm thinking there maybe something wrong with my 1020. It shouldn't be the lense because the back cover was changed a couple of weeks ago.

I like a lot more close ups done with Lumia 930. They're sharper and more true to colours and they give much more detail.

I totaly agree with you!!! The close up on 930 looks much more detailed but 1020 was never a good phone to take pic close to the subject.

I agree wit u Jenim. The close up pics on 930 look much better than 1020. Actualy the 1020 was never good on taking pics very close to an object.

My work around for this one was taking a clear shot, zoom and crop on 1020. Works for me. I have never taken shot in 34 MP or DNG. IMO 34 MP shots would be worth it if you have a lot of zooming and cropping to do.
Cheers

Really? I took the black one back, looked like a boring slab of nothing without the screen on.
Aluminum should be aluminum in colour, looks loads better laid down with a black screen, silver sides and a colour bleeding out from underneath

Although I own a white version. But I find black the best, as there is a consistence with the overall theme. With rest of the colors, we have black glass in the front, silver aluminium frame followed by white or orange or green. Just doesn't match the theme.

I chose black, because I reasoned, rightly or wrongly, that it might radiate heat better and help keep the phone cool if inclined to overheat....which in fact it has never done, though it gets warm when using Camera for long periods.

Black. It's simply beautiful and looks a lot smaller for some reason. The aluminium frame is more discreet because it's black too.

Yeah, I thought that too. Used to have the white version and the black one just feels slimmer and more upmarket. Same with cars - look at a black and a white version of the same model and the black one always looks much smaller. I suppose that's why we wear black clothes if we want to appear slimmer, lol.

Black doesnt look good for all the Lumia devices. Lumia 920 and 1520 looks worse in black. I had the same perception for Lumia 930 too, until I saw one. Lumia 930 and iPhone 5s looks good in black

It seems these are Cyan devices. With my 930 I've noticed significant battery life improvements with Denim as well as camera picture quality. I got mine for 299? at base.de and for that price its an amazing phone. I take it with me when I don't want to lurk my bulky Pentax K-3 with me :).

Much more detail on the 1020 and better color re-production. But 930 still not bad.

Disagree on the detail, they are about the same. The 1020 has too much yellow. Seems the 930 has better DR too looking at the background of the buildings in the middle. The 930 shot looks more "normal" to me.
