Camera compared to the 930

Hi everyone! I thought I'd take the opportunity to see how the two cameras compare.

I took two pictures at the same time (besides putting one down and picking up the other), and I'd like to show some 100% zoom crop examples. It looks like the 1520 has higher brightness on Auto mode. Doesn't it? The colors don't "pop" as much as the 930. They're slightly washed out.

What do you guys think?

After a few more pictures I've decided that the quality is actually the same, just that on the software side the 930 is programmed to over saturate from the get go. I have yet to find out which settings will get it to give the same saturation, but with Rich Edit mode, it looks much nicer:

In all honesty, the clip is much closer in color to the 1520 after using that rich edit mode, than the 930 which seemed to oversaturate a little bit.

Did you crop them from the 5mp jpeg? The pictures from Lumia 1520 do not look washed out to me, albeit they do lack the contrast that the 930 has.

For me I got rid of my 930 because of the terrible color and over contrast compared to the 1520. Flash and richtone shots were unusable on the 930 when using cam 5 due to smearing and color/contrast. On my 1520 the flash shots are great with cam 5 even with richtone.

I posted up samples on another thread. Also on my Flickr at Blue1k.

I'm curious to your results. There shouldn't be any differences between both cameras but we are seeing that.

If I replicate a shot using the classic camera, more times than not it produces a better balanced photo with realistic contrast and blues.

From the 16mpx shot. Downloaded over USB :)

Maybe I was thinking about the contrast, and not washed out. I'm no photographer :$ haha. I just point and shoot half the time!

I'm on mobile now. When I get to a PC I might be able to load a few pictures. You can head to the 1520 pictures thread and take a look. I just uploaded 3 shots there few days back.
