The cynic in me is wondering.

Is msoft dumping the 830?
Sale yesterday? Yes, I got confirmation for one. :)
Brit company selling SIM-less for 199.00 pounds
.
Could it be that there is nothing coming from AT&T for Denim update.

Will we see another sale from msoft soon?

Msoft cutting and running with promises of new flagship soon with w10?

Nah, waaaay too cynical.

So many questions, so much time. :)

Dumping? No. (the word implies firesale prices to crack a market actually)

The update on AT&T? That's AT&T's job probably. Considering carriers are often the bottleneck for any update, whether Android, Blackberry or Windows Phone...

Another sale? Maybe, isn't out of the world, but I suspect it was a lightning, one-time sale.

:p

That might depend on where in the World one lives. Bonnet or Hood, Trunk or Boot, Lug-Wrench or Wheel Brace etc.

Here in the US, I am confident when using the term "dumped," as in boyfriend is dumping the girlfriend, i.e. Dropping. Dumping as in selling off at or near cost price to get rid of old stock.

It may be AT&T's job for their variant, but msoft are selling the RM-895 whjich has nothing to do with the AT&T variant. They seem to be waiting until AT&T release their update before releasing for the 895. Surely both AT&T and msoft are not swamped. My guess on that is that AT&T don't give a damn for the few 830 customer they may have. :) AT&T is not known as the most loving and/or fair company in our country,.

1.Buy the unlocked one or better flash updates from various countries
2.The 830 is doing quite well in most countries even in india
3.American providers have a history of withholding updates.
4.Yes,there's defenietly gonna be a w10 flagship but 830 will get windows 10

Missing - 1. 2. 3. 4
1: I have, but choose not to flash in case I brick a $450 device.
2: But are they selling them off? A $200 price drop is not just a nice gesture. Albeit a short Sale, but the 199-Pound in in the UK is "normal" price and not an on-sale price.
3: This phone was purchased directly from Microsoft.
4: What does that mean? :)

1.it rarely gets bricked unless you delibrately do it
2.200 dollars price drop to shift consumers away from other phones
3.OK
4.A new phone is coming soon. It's gonna be a flagship and it will run windows 10.Also the 830 will get windows 10

The $200 off lasted for like an hour and was most likely a coupon mistake. They did honor the sales though (typing on my $199 830 now).

The full Denim can't be far off. Hopefully anyway.

But there is no firesale. Just a short lived deal window that was most likely an error.

But, what about the UK ones for $199-Pounds. Msoft must surely be subsidizing those. There cannot be that much margin in them that they can discount them by 100-Pounds and still sell at a profit of some sort.

I am guessing we will see many more such "errors" here. :)

Well considering 199 pounds-sterling equals $296 USD or so, not 200 USD...

I got Denim for my RM-985 yesterday.

What OS and firmware version do you have now?
I receive a update about two weeks ago and I think that update is the full Denim. After that, Lumia Camera 5 works like a charm!

And my 830 was brougt direct from Nokia....

I have an RM-983 (AT&T) and an RM-985 (unlocked), and they both have Denim. I got them in last week, and they came to me that way, so I can't comment on how they were updated.

All 830's have "Denim". The question is that whether they have the "Full Denim" update. You have to look at the software release versions to determine that. I'd be very surprised if the AT&T one has the full update at this point in time.
