Is it worth it to say goodbye to my lumia 920?

Hi everybody :D
My Lumia 920 glass has been broken for a while now. I've been looking for a few months on the Internet to see how I could replace the glass/digitizer without LCD (which works perfectly) but I found out that it's incredibly difficult to find an OEM part. If ever should I change the screen, I still want super sensitive touch, the colors and the "feel" of the screen just like it used to be. This is why, after seeing Lumia 640 features, it came across my mind the idea of changing my phone. Here's what I understood:
-slightly better soc (msm8926 1.2 ghz quad) vs s4 plus 1.5 ghz dual of my "old" 920;
-slightly better gpu according to many websites (adreno 305) vs adreno 225 of Lumia 920;
-same quality screen (clear black HD right?) but bigger;
-1/4 more battery (2500 mah) vs 2000mah of Lumia 920;
-new phone (obviously) no battery usage, no scratches;
-40g less (145g) vs 185 of Lumia 920-->huge difference according to me;

Then the camera:
I personally never liked too much the Lumia 920 OIS, I don't know how to describe but every video has always had that strange effect like everything is moving (closer and further). I like 640 videos and pictures very much (probably they are the same quality of Lumia 920). The real problem is pictures and videos in the night...do I actually see anything with a Lumia 640 or its camera features are too far from Lumia 920 to have good shots in low light conditions?

Overall, would you advise me to change my phone with this 640 considering I would pay it 60? (70-75$) with a cheap contract instead of trying to replace the Lumia 920 screen for 30? with uncertain results?

Thanks a lot if you managed to end this long thread (sorry but wanted to give you all the details I could)! :D

Actually the screen of 920 has Puremotion HD+ with butter smooth refresh rates and is still superior to 640.
And the processor too is actually more powerful and Adreno 225 can at max only be matched by Adreno 305 and is not more powerful. So in general app startups and gaming 920 still is better.
The place 640 will excel is multitasking and the way better battery life should be a huge step up from 920 with minimal heating.
And in lowlight the 640 won't be as good as 920 cos of the lack of OIS and its just a plain optics compared to Zeiss optics of 920.
Overall its downgrade in some respects but if those are not important then 640 is a great deal.

Thanks For the explanation. Somehow it could be a good compromise then..do you Know if there are samples of low light (especially night) pictures taken by lumia 640? I found only one in a comparison between 640 and 830, it's in a garage but there's daylight around. I just wanted to see some pictures in the night. Thank you again in advance

The 640 also has a user replaceable battery and a micro SD card slot - will take up to 128Gb. You can also get it with 1 year free MS Office and 1TB Onedrive.

I have a Lumia 925 (same CPU as 920) and 640. The 640 is way quicker at loading apps, browsing etc than the 925.

Bottom line is the 920 is nearly 2 years old. Its a great phone, a groundbreaking handset, but (for me) the 640 is an upgrade.

Thank you too! Could you post sole pictures shot at night? Just to see the difference between 640 and 920/925

My last Windows phone was a 1020 and I actually prefer the 640.

It's thinner, lighter, has a larger screen, has a micro SD card slot and removable battery. The camera is much quicker to load although obviously the 1020 camera is superior.

I wouldn't consider going back to the 920 from a 640.

I'm not sure what you are after but there are some good 640 Sample images here - from a Microsoft blog. The author says the images are untouched and direct from the phone.

The CPUs are different : your 920/925 has a dual-core krait qualcomm S4 Plus with adreno 225 gpu whereas Lumia 640 has a qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad-core cortex-a7 cpu with adreno 305 gpu
